Guest guest Posted January 4, 2010 Report Share Posted January 4, 2010 The Department of Health is offering H1N1 swine flu vaccinations Friday Jan. 8 and Jan. 9 at 33 clinics across the commonwealth. The department is now able to provide the vaccine to anyone who wants it. The clinics will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Priority groups are urged to be vaccinated. They include pregnant women, anyone six month to 24 years old, healthcare providers and emergency medical services personnel, parents, household members and caregivers of children under six months and those 65 years with certain underlying medical conditions. To date, Pennsylvania has been allocated 3,745,600 doses of the vaccine. The department has provided the innoculation to 2,096 private providers, local health departments and state health centers. The department will continue to provide vaccines to certified providers who order it through the Statewide Immunization Information System. Anyone wishing to receive a vaccination is urged to make an appointment by visiting www.H1N1in PA.com under " What's Hot. " or call 877-724-3258. Appointments can be made 24 hours a day on the Internet and between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. by telephone. ****************** ADDED BY ME I called the number asking about injectable (dead) vs intranasal (live).
