Guest guest
Hi Anita....I am a gyn cancer survivor. I was dx'd in 1998 and so far, so good. Mine was caught at stage 1. I do take r/a meds...both my rheumy and my gyn/onc know my meds. My r/a was so severe that I have had to take them because I would probably be in bed all the time if I didn't. enbrel and prednisone have worked well for me..knock on wood. I've been on enbrel since Sept 2005. I can relate to what you're going thru. Its so hard to deal with one illness, let alone 2 or 3. I've have r/a since 1983 so lived with it a long time. I was my father's caretaker and spent most of my time taking care of him. I met my and 8 yrs later, he passed away...so I am solo again. I just try to take a day at a time and pray that things will be better down the road for me. I have always tried to have optimism and hope. I guess that's the best we can do sometimes. Sending hugs...a OHIO Is it spring yet?????
Guest guest
I have mild RA and am not currently taking any medications to fight it. I use Tramadol and Celebrex for pain management rarely and I am currently getting acupuncture twice a month. I'm about to go back to doing water exercise with the aqua arthritis class at the YMCA. When I was on medication it was Methotrexate and I found it made me extremely fatigued. We decided my RA wasn't progress enough to warrant aggressive treatment at this time. I cannot take oral steroids as they give me a horrible time with sweating and heart racing and high blood pressure. Sucks b/c they do help me feel better. ~
Guest guest
Hi a:  As you well know, I admire your strength and courage with all you have gone through. You are a truly amazing woman, and one of my dearest friends.  You lost your father, then your fiance. You faced cancer and beat it. You have RA and bad in your feet like me. You are embracing Enbrel and Prednisone and they are working wonderfully for you. You have your life back, and many things to look forward to. You are so blessed to be doing so well and you would not know you have RA.  I just wanted everyone here to really know that we all have hope for our futures. Finding our " perfect cocktail " of meds for our RA is our goal. I never thought I would be so lucky to have my " magic cocktail " of RA meds and have my life back like a.  I was such in bad shape when RA struck me. I was almost wheelchair bound. Here I am almost 7 years later and in a medicine induced remission. My RA meds. are working well for me and I feel really good. I am pain free especially my feet. Boy, I suffered so long with these feet and I never thought I would see the day that my feet were pain free. The last bout of pain in my feet were the worst I ever suffered. My foot surgeon did a nerve test on them and it came back I had neuropathy in both of them. My Rheumy started me on Lyrica, and finally that worked. I no longer have foot pain. I was beginning to think that I was doomed to have these awful painful feet for life. I really could not stand on them or try to walk as the pain was more then I could bear. I figured I was home bound forever. Imagine my surprise when the Lyrica finally worked and my feet are so happy now. I also take B12 for the foot pain and Neuropthay, and these 2 are working well for me.  I wish everyone here a better future, and that they can get their RA under control and be pain free.  I care about each and every one of you. This group has the nicest and finest people here. Maybe others do not understand about RA but we sure do.  Take care and rest as much as possible.  Hugs,  Barbara From: rascalsniche@... <rascalsniche@...> Subject: [ ] Fighting r/as without r/a meds Date: Wednesday, February 23, 2011, 9:38 AM  Hi Anita....I am a gyn cancer survivor.
