Hi Michele...there are people who don't have as good results with enbrel

but have good results with Humira so he may want to switch you to something

else. It may take longer for you to get all the benefits. But I felt the

enbrel helped me within days really.....which is rare. Don't give up, if

one doesn't work, something else will possibly help you.

I'm so thrilled with enbrel though..... I've been on it since 2005.

Maybe he will try something else....

Hugs..paula

I am curious to know what everyone thinks about Enbrel as well because I have an

appt today with the Rheumy to get back on some meds and I am pretty sure he

wants me to start the Enbrel. I have been off of everything except the celebrex

and I am falling apart now

Subject: [ ] enbrel

Ive been on Enbrel for about 3-4 months now and I can truly say Im not too

impressed with it. Im still getting flare ups, stiffness, pain etc almost

everyday, yes there might be a few good days during the week but for the

most part, nothing has changed. The kicker is that ive tried it with and

without the prednisone to which even that didn't make a difference. I self

weaned myself to see how enbrel would work without the prednisone and was so

disappointed at the results. I was hoping to finally be rid of the prednisone

but had to go back on it, it sucks to know that having that little dose

helps alittle.

So my question for all the Enbrel users, how long did it take you to start

feeling better, is there anything else you take with it in combination to

help????

I just started doing the same thing in December Sue....I take the self mix

25 mg twice a week and dropped it down to once a week. I'm doing good with

that dosage.

Hi , I am new to the group.  Though I have been reading all the

correspondence, this is the first time I am writing.

I have been on Enbrel for ten years.  I was fortunate that it began working

within a week.  Though I must add that I was already on Methotrexate (MTX) when

I started Enbrel.  Your might suggest to your Rheumy about adding MTX to see if

that would be more effective.  MTX may take a while (it took me several weeks,

but may take several months) before you hopefully will feel a difference.  Hope

this information helps.  Wishing you pain-free days.

Michele,

Since we're all different, we react differently to different meds.

I've been on Enbrel for over five years, and I take only Tylenol along

with it. It works so well for me that I am spacing out my injections

to once a week instead of the prescribed twice a week. (I'm on the

25mg twice-weekly that I have to mix myself.)

As far as I can recall, it didn't take very long at all before I could

tell a difference.

Good luck!

Sue
