Guest guest
Kurt: It is amazing how much pain we've blocked out or put up with before surgery and once you have it (mine 2-16-04) you'll be suprised at how different things will be. I swear the post surgery pain was minimal compared to the pre thr. Good Luck! Kenny >
Guest guest
Beth Maxwell, Welcome, You may want to visit http://www.Mercury-freeDrugs.org and, on the " Documents " page, download and read the first 3 articles there: 1. Thimerosal (49.55% Mercury) Causes Mercury Poisoning - A Rebuttal to Dr. Novella's Views 2. Dr. Haley's Supporting Slides for Mercury Causes Mercury Poisoning 3. Mercury Emissions On addition, you may find the information in my posts and those of others who, like myself, are engaged in addressing the major cause of the harm done, Thimerosal (49.55% mercury) in vaccines and other drugs that is MERCURY POISONING all Americans who are administered such drugs to some degree and clinically MERCURY POISONING more than 1 child in 6 and severely poisoning more than 1 out of every 166 children (if you accept the statistics stated in the 2004 joint DHHS/CDC/FDA/AAP " Autism A.L.A.R.M. " flyer as the minimums that they so obviously are. The " new " developments are the increasing recognition that this mercury poisoning affects every human organ and system not just the central nervous system and that the clinical mercury poisoning is occurring across the age spectrum and not just in early childhood. As the mechanisms and drivers of this mercury poisoning are being elucidated in detail, the treatment regiens are being broadened to address the other systems and organs affected such that the benefit of hyperbaric oxygen and, where diagnosed, active treatments to address " percocious puberty " and its interferring effect on some other treatments as well as in-depth diagnostic evaluations to evaluate the extent of damage to organs other than the brain, gut and kidney (the glands, liver, pancreas, spleen, epidermis and heart) and systems other than the central nervous system (e.g., the various immune and endrocrine systems), and to devise holistic staged thearapies to mitigate and, where possible, heal the damage in these other organs and systems as an adjunct to removing the mercury that is the poison and a trigger for these harms. Hopefully, later this year and early next, more of these findings will be published. Guest guest
Hi : Welcome to our wonderful group. I was sorry to read that for a young man you are suffering so much pain. I know several members here are RA negative, but are still being treated by a Rheumy for RA. Also, many members here can answer your questions better then me. I will be 70 Friday and I have had positive RA for over 6 years. For the past 1 1/2 years I have been in a medicine induced remission, which I am very grateful for. It took me over 4 years to find the right " cocktail " of meds. I have been on MTX injections, daily meds. of Pred., Sulfasalazine, Placquenil, Vit. D & Calcium, and Leucovorin 1X a week. I am at the maximum doses of these meds. My feet and ankles were hit the hardest, then my hands, fingers, wrists. Before i found the right " Cocktail " of meds. for me, I suffered 24/7. My feet and ankles were so bad, I could hardly stand on them, let alone walk. RA has changed my life, so I had to learn to do things differently, and also pace myself. These things did not come easily for me, but I persevered. I am a very positve person, so I try to keep good thoughts in my mind. I am grateful for this time to be pain free. I really never thought it would happen to me, but I was wrong. There is always hope. A great requirement is to find the best Rheumy you can, who will listen to you, treat you with respect, and care about your condition and your suffering. There is no need for a Rheumy who will not give you RX's for pain meds. In this day and age, a doctore owes you to keep you feeling as well as possible. I can never imagine suffering in pain 24/7 and not getting any pain meds. Pain is very wearing to the body and soul. Pain will override everything. There were many, many days I could not get out of bed without the help of my pain meds, and a walker. When I was first diagnosed, I was almost in a wheel chair. That alone will tell you how bad I was. I have come a long way in 5 1/2 years. I have learned to just take one day at a time, and rest as often as needed. That is what has worked well for me. I rest or nap each afternoon, as I tire easily. Our bodies fight this ugly beast of a disease, 24/7. No wonder we are all so tired. I am glad you found us. Everyone here knows what you are dealing with 24/7. The ONLY people who understand about RA and what we live with each and every day, are the wonderful caring, loving people here. This is where I learned about RA. I knew nothing about it when I got diagnosed. The best day of my life, was joining this group. I did a wonderful thing for myself. You can cry, vent, get angry, etc. here. We all know what you are going through. I wish you many pain free days ahead. Again, welcome here.  Hugs,  Barbara From: shawnthomas9500 <shawnthomas9500@...> Subject: [ ] New To Group - Introduction Date: Monday, January 25, 2010, 12:45 PM  Hello, To briefly describe my condition: I have had 3 surgeries on my right hip to repair a labral tear and have limited mobility in that joint. My left also has a tear and I am contemplating surgery. I have had neck pain since I was about 13 years old, I am now 29. My pain and stiffness is now in my hands, my elbows, feet, knees and back...basically overall inflammation. I have been to several RA specialist who have done blood tests, all of which have come back negative. One Dr. believed I had Anklosing Spondylitis, but then decided I did not. I can't understand what is causing this chronic pain and it is creating numerous challenges in my life, bouts w/ depression etc. Again, I am a 29 year old male, who appears to be in good shape. My pelvis is out of allignment due to my hip issues and my gait has changed as a result. But, Doctors are telling me that this shouldn't cause the overall inflammation. ..Any thoughts or feedback would be great greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Hi, . I'm very sorry to hear about your problems. I'm not sure where you are or whom you've seen, but maybe going to an excellent institution such as s Hopkins in MD, Mayo Clinic in MN, Hospital for Special Surgery in NY, or Cleveland Clinic in OH would help you get an accurate diagnosis. At least at the first two, you can get an interdisciplinary consultation in which a team tries to arrive at the correct diagnosis. Guest guest
Hello . Since joining this group I have learned a lot. I have RA and it does not stay in remission. I started walking everyday August 2009 and had enjoyed it until this last couple of months due to hip and left knee pain. You will love this group for it is so informational and very helpful input from others. I may not respond to all responses or posts but I read them everyday.
