Guest guest
You need to be formally diagnosed by a physician, but you probably knew that, a GP can do the preliminary tests. What you describe could be a symptom of Rheumatoid Arthritis but there are many many symptoms and and not everyone has the same exact symptoms because RA is a progressive desease. That's why early diagnoses and treatment is critical. You should talk to your doctor about it at your very next opportunity. Hope this helps. Stan, Seattle, Snow! -------------- Original message -------------- From: " lhines1970 " <avonrep25@...> I havent been formally dx with RA, but have a suspicion I may have it. Would burning, swollen hands at night be a symptom? I have others, but that is my most troubling one at this time.

Guest guest
I've been diagnosed with RA since August, but I have no indicators as far as bloodwork goes. But I have all the signs. It's not just regular arthritis, as it has progressed very rapidly. Right now, I just stopped taking Humira due to a nasty body rash and have switched to Arava. One week and I thought I was doing well. But today, both sides of my jaw totally locked up and I had to spend 6 hours in the ER. Most of that was spent with an ER doctor trying to be 'House' and refused to believe I had RA. I got tested for meningitis, tetanus, and the mumps!!! Finally, they got my RA doc on the phone and she recommended steroid shots and a muscle relaxer and she'll call in me in the morning. Just because it isn't showing up in the blood test (YET) doesn't mean it isn't RA. Please go see a rheumatologist.
