Guest guest
Medical marijuana is legal in Oregon too. Just google it and you can get more information. I know people that use it for that reason. Bureau Alvarez ________________________________ From: Terri J. Guest guest
I visited my son in Californa. Went to an MD and got a prescription. I said I did not want my brain altered but wanted pain relief since I am not allowed pain meds. I purchased lotions/creams. Instant relief with no side effects. Amazing... Guest guest
Hi Betty, I normally lurk on this group but felt that I needed to respond. In my state (MI) Cannabis is legal to qualifying patients. I was diagnosed in March of last year and filled out the paper work for my card in August. I do not smoke the medicine (and yes It is consider medicine) I prefer to make it in capsule form and some friends of mine make it into a topical ointment. I do not use any other pain medication. And I just read an article in Treating Yourself Magazine that juicing just the leaf can have great benefits for people with arthritis. If it is legal in your state I suggest looking into it. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. Pain free internet hugs, in MI Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

Guest guest
Hi Everyone: i wanted to chime in. Been awhile, this Coumadin therapy I am on is TERRIBLE, although I rather enjoy loosing the weight, its the hard way to go about it. Never been to the doc so much in my life, 4 mos to go and I am off this damn Coumadin (YUCK). I havent had an RA breakthru since Thanksgiving and my hospitalization for chest blood clots/pluerisy, and I feel OK. Wanted to weigh in on the marijuana issue. I take Marinol. It has been the same price as my other drugs, with my insurance, $35.00 a prescription. My doc instructs me to chew it, let the liquid out into your mouth, rather than just swallowing it. This got me off the Opana, which was making me vomit. It works ok not as good as Opana, but it does the trick. She is a pain/palliative care specialist, she is awesome! The other thing I tried was to bake the marijuana in Olive Oil, 45 minutes, then strain out the weed and use the oil. Someone made it for me, from Cali. It works great. One small dropper full a day has made a tremendous difference in my life, I feel better, I do not get high at all unless I would take like a teaspoon full. Just a small dropper full, everyday. For the life of me, dont know why this isnt more readily available, plenty of people dont want to get high, just get relief. I made a tincture of the leftover cooked weed with alcohol and a little rum, I use it as a linament/rub on the sore spots. It works great. I just leave it in their soaking, even though the THC has been baked out, the leftovers are still good for linament. OKD
Guest guest
This is probably a stupid question. I like the idea of the oil and weed baked and taking a little everyday. I work in a restaurant so its pretty available. Never was a pot smoker, it just put me to sleep but I am willing to try anything. My question is would this show up in a drug test. I have been applying for jobs within the school system and am sure that I will have to take one. Thanks in advance. Heres to a pain free day (or hour) Carol
Guest guest
Sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I live in california and have tried marijuana in the past for pain related to an accident before my auto-immune problems became a major issue. While it does alevieate pain, and I have considered it for RA, I have decided against it. I have fatigue issues, and while it might aleviate my pain, it is really not a get-up-and-go medicine. If fatigue is an issue for you at all, I would not recommend it. The feeling it gives you is calming and sedating, so I don't know how much it will help you do housework. Marinol is a legal option, I have not tried it, but I hear that it has a similar pain relieving, nausea relieveing effect without so much of the high. Good luck, Kristi in Cali > > i take my pain meds, then try to do some house work. i end up barely > dragging myself to a chair, hurting so bad i just sit there and cry. > my meds help me as long as i sit still. even then, after awhile i have > to move.... you know how it is.... > > my question is, ... > has anyone on here ever tried marajuanna (sp. ??) i know it is > illeagle in most states. is there any place where you can get it > legal, and does it help with the pain ??? i've never even seen any > of it, but i've heard the kids around here talk about it. lol..... > they don't say too much around this old grandma tho..... > > any info on this would be appreciated .. > > Betty, > in Alabama > -- > NUMBERS 6: 24-26 >
Guest guest
Hi Betty, I have tried it and it does knock me out so I can get a break from the pain for a little while. I'm still looking to find a way to get it legally. It is legal here in Michigan. But so far I haven't found a doctor that knows anything about it. Michigan my question is, ... has anyone on here ever tried marajuanna (sp. ??) i know it is illeagle in most states. is there any place where you can get it legal, and does it help with the pain ??? i've never even seen any of it, but i've heard the kids around here talk about it. lol..... they don't say too much around this old grandma tho..... any info on this would be appreciated ..
