Please take your energy and go to the police about your stalker. Some of these

guys are just plain nuts. Please make it a priority for your safety. With that

off your mind you can think clearly and reconcile your other problems.

Angll,

What state are you in? There are various ways that disability works

in the system.

I am with the OPERS system. I use VITA, a volunteer organization

that does taxes for people, not only disabled but low income, seniors &

etc. They handle Federal, State & local tax codes. There are other

organizations that do this also. Contact a senior center near you, they

should be able to tell you who to contact. Some of these will also come

to your home should you not be able to get to theirs.

I also worked at the local police department. When it comes to

stalkers they are treated aggressively, or should be, by the police,

prosecutors & court system. They will come to your home, if needed, to

take the report and also

advise you on how to get a Temporary Protection Order, against the

stalker, at no cost to you, only some of your time. You should do this

as soon as possible. People that stalk are, usually, not very nice people!!

Thank you for kind informative text. I also am on OPERS, do you have a number of

agency I can contact for assistance? I get overwhelmed and put things off

sometimes do to getting to stressed and tense which starts then flair up

process.

Unfortunately, I have not had success w contacting our police here. They did

come to my home twice but the first time the female officer was rude and when I

told her he even had nude photos of me she said I must have posed nude for him

at some time! I was shocked. I never have done that in my life. I'm not judging

anyone who does, I just never have, it's not for me; but my stalker either has a

camera in my apt or took them by manipulating my phone. He made a point of

letting me know he was because he sent me pictures he had taken, and some were

of me asleep! The second time the police came, the male officer was nice and

said it was identity theft and that someone would contact me re how to deal w

it, but no one ever did. I was so stressed I was in a flair up in bed for over 6

months. It's hard to even write about it. I just got a new security program for

my computer to see if it helps and am getting rid of my phone. I don't know how

much it will help. I

did change my locks, and try to be more careful re my trsh. He's had someone go

through it before. How do I know? At my trash dumpster the shopping bag I used

for the trash was hanging from the top and my regular trash bag was placed on a

hook in the front.  He seems to enjoy letting me know " his power " re what he

can do to violate me. No, stalkers usually aren't nice people, he is very angery

and frightening. He once told me he doesn't get mad, he gets even.

The whole stalker thing has got to stop. If the two officers did nothing you

will have to take it a step further. Do you have a friend who could be with you

when you talk to the police. It sometimes help to have someone there with you

and can step in if you need them. This is very dangerous. The first officer is

just a bad police officer the second was just not informed . This is not

identity theft it is definately stalking. Please please contact the police again

but insist on speaking to someone who is higher rank. Call the regular number

not 911 and dont wait until he comes back. You do not need to live in fear.

There are also other agencies that deal with this kind of thing . If you want to

email me and tell me where you live I can look into it and get back to you.

Please do this as you cant get your health straight until this awful person is

put away. There are very strict stalking laws in this country. They just have to

be applied.

Wow, I would be scared to death. You definitely need to contact the police

again. Perhaps, go into the police department, instead of calling them to you.

There are agencies in CO that help you with this type of situation, check into

this in your state. I wish you well.

Angll,

Here are a couple state agencies to contact, or look into on the web,

that should be able to help you out. They should at least be able to

direct you to someone in your area.

This is the web address for the attorney generals office. They have in

the past been very aggressive about stalking and will help you as much

as possible. There is an 800 number you can call to speak to a person

about it.

I hope this helps you.

I was scared to death for a long time. My pychiatrist had warned me but I didn't

take his advice re how careful I needed to be and some terrible things happened.

I think my anxiety over it all may have made the police think I was emotionally

unstable, I need to try to be calm and have as much detail as possible to give

to them. I also didn't undertand how he was doing things and now I do so that

will help me in dealing w the police. It's a shame they don't seem to be very

adept at dealing w stalking victims here. Someone suggested that I contact the

Attorney General's office here so I'm going to follow up on that.Thank you for

caring. Have a nice day.

Hi,

I'm on PERS in Ohio and have been for about 10 yrs. I have medicare too, you

have to apply for medicare, it will take up to 24 months for you to get benefits

if you qualify. Qualifying for medicare is similar to qualifying for SS, you

may not qualify but it's worth a try. I'm not sure what you mean by qualifying

as disabled on your taxes, I always check that box on my taxes, all you need is

a Dr's letter stating you are disabled, your PERS eligibility letter should

suffice. Just because you qualify under IRS doesn't mean that you'll get any

kind of tax break though. According to the IRS your maximum benefit is $750 if

you're single and $1125 if you're married and claim the disability exemption.

Here is the official IRS information on the disability exemption:

www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p524.pdf

hope this helps,

River
