Guest guest
Oh Dennis, what joyous news having that cancer gone. I know you have had a rough 2 months, and thank God it is all behind you now. I will be glad when you get a Rheumy you can work with, and has your best interest at heart. One who will really listen to you, and help you feel better. Your body will be happy to get back on your RA meds. I wish you continued good health, and that you will feel better each day. I was so happy to see that you posted tonight. We have all been concerned about you, and have missed you. Betty must be so happy with your good news. Take care, and I hope a better sleep pattern comes your way. I hate when I can't sleep and am no good the next day. God Bless you and have a good night.  Hugs,  Barbara From: Dennis W <betnden@...> Subject: [ ] My cancer results " " < > Date: Friday, January 22, 2010, 8:35 PM  If some of you remember, I was 'mis'treated for prostate cancer for 2 months, 40 treatments. Now, a month after, I just saw my Urologist to get the latest on my results, and it's GOOD NEWS! My PSA is very low, more than usual so I'm declaring myself to be cancer-free! I had a rough 2 months but have gotten past it except for my sleep pattern. It's still messed up but I can live with that. It's much better than the alternative. Now I can start back on MTX and maybe make my Rheumy happy. He's complaining about my staying on 10 mg Pred and not taking Fosamax. I'm having 4-5 doctors telling me what to do and none are the same. Fosamax is a problem of the jaw, causing necrosis, and I'm having unresolved problems with my teeth. I'm not back to taking it yet and my Dentist agrees. One doctor took me off my heart meds and I had to restart them. He's out! The others are more realistic and working with me, not against me. Except the Rheumy. I'm watching closely and will dump him when I get the chance. Dennis in eastexas

I am hoping that this tangle of meds and dr appts that you are navigating smooths out soon. Guest guest
WOW!! Congratulations, Dennis! I pray your PSA levels continue to stay low and you remain cancer free! You go get 'em with those doctors, Dennis! If they aren't cutting the mustard - out the door they go!! I'm right there with you. I'm tired of being in pain all the time. I'm tired of getting a lecture everytime I go to my PC for my pain med refill. I'm frustrated with my Rheumy when he gets all egotistical and pissed off when I have researched and want to make changes to my meds. Sooo - my 2010 goal is to get new doctors lined up that will work with me rather than against me. Praying all good things for you and Betty this year. You certainly deserve better things. Keep us posted. Its so good to hear from you again. Doreen If some of you remember, I was 'mis'treated for prostate cancer for 2 months, 40 treatments. Guest guest
Hi Dennis, Congrats on the cancer being gone. >Fosamax is a > problem of the jaw, causing necrosis, and I'm having unresolved problems > with my teeth. I'm not back to taking it yet and my Dentist agrees. My grandmother also had the same problem with Fosamax. I will refuse to take it even though none of my doctors have recommended it yet. I am 23 and have osteopenia. I only take calcium and vitamin D twice a day and do weight bearing exercises as much as my joints will let me. I wish you the best. Guest guest
LOL Had to chuckle at your comment " will dump him when I get the chance " . Been there, done that. Congratulations on your successful 'mis'treatment and cancer free status! That's great news. I know how you feel about having more than one doc--and each having differing opinions about what to take and what not to take. It drives me nuts! Which is probably why I don't like going to them. lol Michele > > If some of you remember, I was 'mis'treated for prostate cancer for 2 > months, 40 treatments.
