Hasselbeck on " The View " has celiac disease and has written

a diet book about it. However, it has been criticized as having some

inaccuracies in it. But maybe such a book would answer your question

about where to find gluten-free foods. Why don't you check your

library to see if they have a similar book?

Not sure where you're from but there are many gluten free items available at

Wegmans in their organic section now.  Our Walmart doesn't seem to carry that

many organic or gluten free products.  They do have a little organic section but

it's mostly soy products (which may be gluten free as well).  There is a natural

foods store called Laurie's natural foods near us that carries gluten free but

it is much more expensive.  I would think Whole Foods would also though there is

not one near us so I don't know.

I have not found a gluten free bread that I like but Food For Life makes brown

rice tortillas that are very good and brown rice pasta is good.

Hope this helps,

Hi- I have issues with Gluten (non-reactive Cealic Disease)! I buy stuff from

www.glutenfreemall.com, local health food stores and at any grocery store. More

and more stores carry products. Manufacturers also lable products as Gluten

Free. Yay for Lays Potato Chips! :) Starting going gluten free is confusing,

but once yoou get the hang, it's so easy. Think- NO wheat products, lots of

protein, seafood, veggies, fruit, BACON!, baked potatis, etc. You can buy

gluten free bread or like me, just make you own with your bread maker. I in no

way feel like I am deprived. The library will have books to get you started, go

online and do a search about gluten free and/or Cealic Disease. I eat yummy

gliten free cookies, deserts, etc. :) D. in south Louisiana

i buy rice noodles from an asian store. it's cheaper than buying it from your

local grocery. when i'm in the mood for somthing bready i will soak a cup of

brown rice with a cup of water overnight. then i will run it through the food

processor for 10 minutes. i add honey, oil, baking powder and egg and fry it up

just like a pancake. they taste yummy.

I honestly believe I have problems with gluten. Everytime I eat breads, oatmeal,

etc I end up with a Buddha belly (someone else had described this and I couldnt

help but steal it) lol! seriously, its miserable! anyone else have this problem?

I feel better on a low-carb diet but it is hard to stick to. I might have to

just do it to feel better and stop the bloating and other unmentionable

symptoms. Does anyone here buy gluten-free foods? if so, can those be bought at

Wal-Mart or any other national chains? what other types of foods do you eat?

Thanks for the help!
