Guest guest
Hi All After suffering infections for four years, I have been clear since I have been following this daily regime for over 14 years now. 200 ml. Of Ocean Spray " Classic " Cranberry Juice in the morning. 1 capsule of Cranberry/ Vitamin C, three times a day. 2 liters of water, starting as early as possible to flush out the night time consentrated urine . It will take up to three months for the Cranberry Juice to coat the urinary tract, the coating helps prevent further infections. This has an added advantage of deodorizing the urine. Classic Light is 25% cranberry with no added sugar. I thought I would remind you of this as it helped me, I was on antibiotics for two weeks on and off for four years. The GP wanted me to go on a small dose of antibiotics for ever, to me that wasn't a cure. I did my homework and worked out the Cranberry Cocktail above. I have the bladder sticks to check for urine quality so I can keep a lookout for infections. If you use any form of catheterisation you will also require extra Vitamin C, 1000mg daily to reduce the flaking effect in the bladder. Guest guest
My girlfriend uses this new stuff called Cleartract that has d-mannose in it and it works really well and is much more potent than cranberry. Since it is so potent you dont have to take it everyday to try to prevent infections. It is so effective it can clear up a full blown infection in just a couple of days and can even clear it in one day if you catch it early enough. You can of course take it for prevention if you dont want to wait until you get an infection, and you only need one dose a day and that should keep you infection free indefinitely. I agree but no good if you have a catheter. .
Guest guest
Thanks . I wasn't getting as many infections as you, but after 3 or four, I went on cranberry tabs, and haven't had an infection for about a yr and a half - when I started using them. I constantly worry though, so this is good to see a 'regimen' that has worked so well for another mser. :-) > > > > Hi All > > After suffering infections for four years, I have been clear since I have been following this daily regime for over 14 years now. > > 200 ml.
