Guest guest
Dan- Glad it's going better for you. Still averse to shots, ehh? :-). I guess I would titrate based on how your symptoms are under control rather than how your total T level is, albeit 280 is still low. Played some volleyball with the guys last week and was feeling grateful afterwords that I didn't feel frail or worried about pulling my back like I used to, so I know I am still improving. Guest guest
Hi Dan your not getting the T from the androgel shit 280 and you doing 5 grams you need to get on something that works better. Testim will not help if your skin does not let the gel into you blood. If I were you I would not go though this for 3 more months. 33 is not bad leave it alone. Are you doing Zinc/Copper this helps keep E2 down 50 mgs. of Zinc to 2 mgs. of Copper everyday. http://www.myvitanet.com/zincop100cnt.html Phil " opus1.rm " <no_reply > wrote: I finally got my test results! The strange thing is that even though the T is low I still feel much better than I did before. I suppose it's possible the test was wrong or that it was just a bad day and my levels dropped temporarily. Anyway, I'll be on the new dosage for another 3 months (I'm using the pump instead of the packets) and after that I'm thinking of switching to Testim to see if it absorbs any better. A little worried that it may smell bad or be more sticky but everyone seems to think it works better so maybe its worth giving a try. Also, I'm wondering if E2 being 33 is a little high? I may try out the Indoplex DIM and see if it makes any difference. -Dan ---------------------------------
Guest guest
Dano Great to hear you're improving! And from a previous post of yours: " I'm finally starting to remember what it feels like to be horny. " Congrats on that for sure! I never had a big problem with that, I've been horny all along more or less. I'm still improving too, guess it takes time, but I do feel stronger than I have for a long time and the brain fog isn't near what it used to be. And, yes, I'm still averse to shots. -Dan > > I finally got my test results! Guest guest
Hi Phil I'm not taking any supplements right now. I was waiting to see what the results were first. I do plan to start on the zinc/copper. Not sure about the DIM yet, I like to do one thing at a time so I know what is causing the change. Since I already have the stuff, I'm willing to go with the 7.5 g/day for 3 months to see if it does any better, but then my symptoms have not been so severe as to make it unbearable. For me, the shots would be the unbearable thing, but who knows what the future holds. I can tell a difference with the increased dosage, so something must be getting through my thick skin! -Dan > I finally got my test results! Guest guest
It sounds like the Dim is working great for you! After the second month of 5g/day AG, I noticed a lack of the morning wood, but since increasing to 7.5g/day it has came back. This may be temporary like it was when I first started the AG, but I'm hoping it will be permanent. I was considering taking DIM to see if it had an effect on the lack of morning wood (don't need it right now). Phil, since my E2 is 33 (0-53) you said not to take the DIM. I'm not sure exactly what the number should be to stay in that window of optimum levels, obviously it is different for everyone since Gene keeps his much lower. I plan to wait and see if the morning wood goes away and if so, try the DIM for awhile. BTW, congrats on your health! Sounds like you are finally getting to a point where life is good. The HCG seems to be helping you out a great deal. Not sure if I could get my doc to approve that one and I don't know if my insurance would cover it either (they don't cover fertilty). For that matter, I don't know that I really need it either since my testis haven't shrunk yet. Anyway, it's great to hear your progress, keep us posted! -Dan > > I finally got my test results! Guest guest
Phil, Thanks for the link. According to the info there: " Estrogen (measured as estradiol) should be in the mid- to lower-normal range. If estradiol levels are in the upper one-third of the normal reference range, or above the normal reference range, this excessive level of estrogen should be reduced. " and " If estradiol levels are high (above 30)... " . This tells me that since my level is 33, I may have an E2 problem. -Dan > > > I finally got my test results! Guest guest
Yes it could but 33 is not that bad if you take something to get it down it will go down fast so If you try Indolpex/DIM start with one half a pill then if your morning wood starts keep taking it until it stops the stop the DIM until the wood comes back then that day go back on it but take less keep doing this untill you find the right dose. Guest guest
Well, aside from PSA test, would run Total T (testosterone), Free T, Total E (estrogen), and E2 (estradiol).... might want to consider also DHT, DHEA, and Progesterone.... Just my thoughts. Larry Of course if you didn't have those tests run before AndroGel, how are you going to compare to know what AG is doing for you??? > I am new to this. Guest guest
What dosage of androgel have you been prescribed? I started out with a prescription for 2.5 grams and not much in raising the T levels or imimproving the negative sideaffects of low t levels. Finally, found a physician that would prescribe 10 grams and now we are working on lowering the dosage to 7.5 grams. You have to educate yourself and make sure to ask questions and let the doctor know that you are educating yourself and the results you are wanting and need to have to improve your life. I'm searching for a physician in KC that will work with me a prescibe HCG with androgel. Frustrated as I do not feel I have achieved of goal of finding a physician that is will to work with me to achieve my goal of raising my t levels to normal or high normal so that the negative side affects are deminished and possible eliminated. Best of luck in your treatment and most of all educate yourself and let the physician know. Doug > I am new to this. Guest guest
I'm no expert but that seems like a lot of Androgel for only having a T of 157? Are you sure you applying it correctly? You do know it goes under your clothes right? Hehehe, just kidding. From what I hear sometimes you have to figure out which delivery type works best for you. Some people do well on Androgel while others get better results from Testim, patches or injections. You may want to try another delivery type as results are very individualized. All I can say if 157 are your numbers after being on Androgel then that product doesn't seem to be working for you. > Just got off the phone with my doctor's office. Highly > unsatisfactory. Guest guest
, That damned doctor is delegating the responsibility of giving out test results to a person who doesn't know what they mean. I would be in that office screaming my bloody head off. That jackass doesn't deserve the time of day. Oh, by the way, my wife is a Physical Therapist; I have a cousin who is a Radiologist; I have two good friends from College -- One is an ER Physician and the other is a Surgical Oncologist. I've dealt a little bit with people in the medical field and few of them have impressed me. Go tell that so called doctor where to shove it. Guest guest
Susie, I have also heard that some people's skin softens at different intervals. My doc, who is really strange because each appointment he'll spend 20-30 minutes just talking to me, tells me about about some of his patients who improve in some area w/o meds and for no apparent reason. Last month he told me about a guy who was rushed to the hospital because the sclero in his lungs had left him gasping for breath. Three months later he's off a ventilator and walking up and down his stairs. Virtually no meds. He says for some it is like clockwork, for others there is a variability that leaves him w/o an explanation. I suppose that the mino working in your case is at best a hunch???? Be nice if someone had some stats that would offer some clue into a reasonable success rate. W/o real data it is no wonder that some docs do not look favorably upon the AP. And if the disease is variable to begin with, how could they possibly gauge the success of the treatment? Jeff ----Original Message Follows---- From: " " <mitchell.ok@...> rheumatic Subject: rheumatic test results Date: Sat, 17 Dec 2005 00:42:09 -0000 Hi guys, Susie here. First of all, the doc was somewhat shocked at how much my skin has softened and was very pleased. I know that with some people who have scleroderma, this happens. I feel very lucky and I truly believe the mino helped alot. Okay....questions on some of the results of lab work. Please tell me what Alk phosphatase, AST, ALT (under the metabolic comp). Also, what does WBC (hematology, CBC) mean? All of these were slightly high and the doc said she would monitor this. The lymphocytes were in the low range. I have absolutely no idea what these mean. Guest guest
how old are you? was this blood work taken while you were on your cypionate injections? as for E2...i think the test will always use the number and gear it towards both men and women. i think u need to specify taking E2 for men but the range will always be given for both men and women...as does T tests. escher_0072001 <no_reply > wrote: Ok.. I got my final labs back from my doc.. my doc is moving so I have to go hunting. Anyway, here are my labs.. I thought my estradiol seemd high, but I see on the test it obviously wasnt geared towards males, as it says 'female'. My e ws 42, and my tesosterone was 761 (range 400-1080). Free test was 197 (r 47-244) what do you guys think? I've been having some erection issues the last few weeks. I'm taking cypionate injections.
