Guest guest
There are many for me it was the loss of my sex life for over 10 yrs. I stated on TRT at age 40 I was suffering from bad fatigue so bad I could not work. Before starting on TRT I had no problems with sex. But as I was on the TRT after about 10 yrs. I started having bad ED, problems reaching an orgasm, panic attacks, sore prostate with slow voiding, bladder infections like 7 a yr., panic attacks, brain fog and bad rashs on the back of my legs and under my arms. I had sore and hard nipples, felt very hot and would sweat a lot. All of this gone when I got my E2 down. http://www.smart-drugs.com/ias-estrogen.htm http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html grippermania <gripperm@...> wrote: what is the effects of a high E2? > > Now my T levels are well high enough but I am still tired > and have the > > other issues. Guest guest
Hi Roy yes Indolplex/DIM worked for me but at the time my levels were to low and I did not feel all that great. Going to shots and adding HCG my E2 went higher but my T levels were way up and I felt great. Problem was I can't take more then one tablet of the Indolplex/DIM makes me sick. All the younger guys should try Indolplex/DIM first to get there E2 down. Us older guys have more E2 then they do. Roy <chickenbirdtree@...> wrote: Hi Phil, I was wondering why you tell guys to get Indolples/DIM because you know it workd. Why did you switch to Armidex? Just wondering. My doctor put me on that a long time ago when I complained that my Testosterone wasn't working any more ,it helped awhile then stopped When I heard you talk about Arimidex I went to it as you know and I have been fine since then. I have morning erections yet with the cialis too. I can get it up when I want to. Why would anyone want to to to DIM in this case. I haven't had a blood test for many weeks now and still going strong. Take.25mg Arimides ever 9 days and that seems to keep me in the ball park. What say ye old master? Guest guest
Janice, Sounds so similar to my little guy, Charlie. Spoke with Dorfman yesterday and asked her about Charlie looking out of the corner of his eye. She explained that this is a deficiency in vitamin A and that he is getting the cones and rods or vice versa mixed up. So we are now supplimenting with Cod Liver Oil - Vitamin A. In addition I have started to suppliment Charlie with 1 tsp of L Carnatine. His carnatine levels were on the low side of normal. Charlie is a major big time responder to fish oil though and being casen free has helped him tremendously. Also he was low in Zinc. We are up to two and three word combinations these days! Quite a bit of difference from August when he was saying ah and da. Colleen Mother of Chalie 27 months. [ ] Test results I got some labs back for Mark. Didn't get to keep them though as my doc wants to put a program together before relinquishing a copy to me. This should be done in the next week or so. I did get a " sneak preview " though and was interested in your thoughts/comments: My non-fish oil responder son is EXTREMELY efa deficient, particularly in omega 6. I find this interesting as he has never been an EFA responder though I have literally poured various types of EFA's into his system over the years. He also craves seafood and so I feed him a lot of seafood. Apparently none of it is getting absorbed! The 'aaaaah' light bulb moment for me! He is also extremely deficient in glutathione, COQ10 and vitamin A. I forgot to ask about carnitine but the doc just pointed out the high offenders. In addition, his testing (without being a challenge) is showing, once again, high levels of mercury. We will do a heavy metals challenge next to see how much he excretes under a challenge situation. Also, to note, he has a truck-load of trans fats in his system though we have been eating organic and clean for about 5 months now. Apparently, trans fats take well over a year for the body to eliminate. Janice

Guest guest
Interesting stuff, especially the comment about trans fats. How do they test for that? Tyler is on CoQ10 because it helps the carnitine work, so if Mark is low in one, he may be low (even low average) in the other. As I posted previously, I've been told that the carnitine test results don't always reveal the true situation at the cellular level. I can't remember is eczema/skin problems are part of Mark's issues, but the active ingredient in evening primrose oil is thought to be the omega 6 GLA. EPO helps all sorts of skin problems (and " woman " problems, too, like PMS, softening the cervix to prepare it for labor and delivery, etc.) It can be taken orally and also rubbed on eczema spots directly. in NJ > > I got some labs back for Mark. Guest guest
Hi Janice - just a few thoughts - if Mark is showing high levels of mercury coming out, this is a good thing. It is coming out! It is much worse when the body is unable to rid itself of toxins. keep in mind that when you do a challenge, it will show all kinds of nasty things. Take a breath and realize that every person on the planet is going to excrete toxins - we live in a poluted environment. There are some really bad ones that you want to address (lead, mercury, tin, aluminum, ect). The challenge is probably going to be provoked with DMSA? and then collect urine? We chelated with DMSA under the guidance of a DAN, cycling on and off for about 16 months. Lead, mercury, aluminum was pouring out of my child. We stopped chelation a year ago, and are starting over with the docs at Thoughtful House in Austin, TX (Jepson/Wakefield et al) to see exactly where we are biomedically. We will also address chelation with them and go for it if necessary. If it is monitored and administered properly, many children can benefit from it. <ooops! I probably just started a month long thread that will have people bashing me and sending all kinds of comments> You mentioned that he was low glutathione; so was my daughter. That was an easy supplement as we did a transdermal cream. didn't smell, and was soo easy to administer. It also helps the body rid itself of toxins. We also use Klaire Labs Micel A for supplementing - if not, we get visual stims and sideways eyes. It is 5,000IU per drop. Again, easy to administer. On the bright side, it appears that you have someone knowledgeable and willing to work with you. You can't fix what you don't know about. Best of luck to you and your son, Stephanee > > I got some labs back for Mark. Didn't get to keep them though as my doc wants to put a program together before relinquishing a copy to me. Guest guest
Stephanee: 1) How do you avoid tin in toothpaste? 2) DMSA: Is that sulfur based? 3) Can you tell me about ALA safety? Best wishes. Jepson is a rock star! Liz > > > > I got some labs back for Mark. Didn't get to keep them though as > my doc wants to put a program together before relinquishing a copy > to me. Guest guest
Liz - to my knowledge, our toothpaste doesn't contain tin. We use NOW brand xylitol toothpaste. Not very foamy, no flouride, but it does the job. Is the tin in the actual toothpaste or the container? The container appears to be made from plastic. DMSA: sulfur based? something in the back of my brain says " yes " but I wouldn't take that to the bank. My husband is the biomedical wizard, I'm the implementor and therapy guru in our house. He's not home right now... ALA: It is commonly known for it's antioxidant properties. I've read numerous posts from parents who use it to chelate. Some use it in conjunction with DMSA, others use it alone. I've personally never tried ALA on myself due to the fact that I have a mouth full of old amalgams. If indeed it does chelate, I wouldn't be in great shape. ALA does cross the blood/brain barrier which is why some parents and DANs use it to chelate for mercury. Dana from Dana's View web site uses it exclusively for one of her sons. I will say that every time we chelated, we saw positives in our child. No big huge WOWs, but small, steady improvements. The reason we are changing DANs is that ours wasn't an MD, but did work closely with our pediatrician. We decided once and for all to find out what is going on with our kids and make the trip to Austin to visit Dr. Jepson. Then, based upon their recommendations we'll move forward. Ah, just another day in paradise!! Hope this helped you some! Guest guest
I think the tin is in the tube. I admire all that you have done and am thankful for your knowledge. What are you doing about your amalgams if anything. Mine need to come out but I have yet to be sure of a good replacement and don't want to be toothles! > > > > Stephanee: > > > > 1) How do you avoid tin in toothpaste? > > > > 2) DMSA: Is that sulfur based? > > > > 3) Can you tell me about ALA safety? > > > > Best wishes. Guest guest
Hi Stephanee, Happy Thanksigiving to all of you stateside. We celebrated a month ago but I know this is a big day for you all! Thanks for the email on chelation. I was extremely hopeful that Mark didn't really need it and that we could avoid it. But we will do what we need to do under the careful guidance of my doc. I have heard that a lot of the kids get 'sick' when they chelate. We did a DMPS push challenge with Mark in the summer (with a less experienced doctor so I decided to switch) and he actually faired extremely well afterwards. He was bright eyed and bushy tailed! I know that detoxing metals with oral DMSA can take a long time. Did you find your child relatively 'normal' without any major regressions during this period? Did he remain fairly healthy? I think its important to hear the experiences of other moms and kids to really understand the process and the options out there. I like the idea of using Kirkmans transdermal glutathione. I started oral glutathione with Mark but I know that it is not absorbed well and that the cream is probably a more efficient way to go. Thanks for the tip. I am racking my brain, trying to figure out whether we had eaten seafood before Marks testing. I am thinking that the answer is probably 'yes'. We tend to try to eat a lot of fish to get as much EFA's as possible into the kid but I wonder if this is probably a bad thing? If you have a child who does not detox well, should you be feeding them food that is possibly contaminated with mercury and arsenic? Is there any good fish that is deemed safe and is high in EFA's? We eat wild salmon a couple of times a week and we also eat cod, basa and shrimp. Is this bad? I am trying very hard to deliver a decent and healthy diet to my household. Unfortunately I am a lousy cook and so tend to make it as simple as possible. Almost everything is baked or steamed. I have seen great changes just from the elimination of junk food and foods high in trans fat. We still have the odd pizza or chineese food night (always with enzymes) but never eat 'garbage' two days in a row as the effects are really noticeable in Mark. He gets dark circles under his eyes and that pale, wan look returns. The gang at NACD wants me to be feeding Mark more nuts so I am going nut shopping later today! Any tips from anyone? Is there any good fish that is deemed safe and is high in EFA's? We eat wild salmon a couple of times a week and we also eat cod, basa and shrimp. Is this bad? According to our celiac doc the answer is no. Don't be sad though. How cool would it be if diet change and the same EFAs starting helping him a little before the rest of your plan kicks in? Could jumpstart things. Nuts are a beautiful thing but I believe there is a hierarchy of introduction so as not to tear the gut even more. Pecan.org should be able to help you. About DMSA: how does one test for which chelator is necessary? We are not in a position to chelate but I look at my kids and the different effects epsom salt versus calcium bath and wonder if it got down to the chelation decision if they'd each need something different. You are in the homestretch Janice. Hang in there. On this Thanksgiving I am truly thankful I met you! > > > > I got some labs back for Mark. Guest guest
You need to switch from gels to shots every week to 10 days. Gels give unreliable readings, some time you are high but mostly low. Also the skin will stop absorbing the gels over time. IMHO you test are not normal PSA is Good. Total Testosterone shoulb be up to at least 650-700 Testosterone Free is only 33% of range Testosterone Bioavailable is only 25% of range. It should be at about 70% of range Albunin looks good. There is no test for E2. According to my doctors bioavilble is more important than total testosterone as well as Testosterone Free. You need shots to get these levels up. Gels will only make your blood thicher and I beleive because I was on it for years caused heart problems and had to have stents. The E2 will be an important test. You should be at 20. Your weight gain and labs stand out as why you are gaining weight IMHO, been there done that. Guest guest
Hi. Sry for highjacking your thread for a min. Could you elaborate on the thicker blood for me pls. One think i have noticed since all my issues started is that my blood takes longer to draw then it did b4 when i was carefree. And just looks visually thicker or so i imagine. Would this thickening of the blood have anything to do with the high amount of dht that the gels create? (leading the witness but..) Are u saying this would not happen whit T-shots? Im not on any meds now. My issues started after quitting propecia when dht came back online, i did not have alot of issues while on propecia but after quitting my health has severly suffered. But ive been doing better and better, its now 3 years. Can you test for this? whats this kind of test called if available? Thanks. Guest guest
Check thyroid next! Keep on the vitamin D, you should be at 55-75ng Don't let the doctor tell you your thyroid is " fine " or " in-range " and not give you the lab results...their ranges are too broad. Your TSH should be very close to 1, or slightly below. Your " free " , or FT3 and FT4 should be in the top third of range. If you are in the bottom half of range, you are hypothyroid. You can also take your temperature right when you awake. It should be 97.8 or above. Your mid afternoon temp should be 98.6.....or you are hypothyroid despite what the doctor says. Guest guest
Bjorn The test for blood vicosity is the hemoratic. While I was on gels my arthrits doctor constantly complained that my blood was too thick even though I was on massive amounts of Vitamin E and arthrits meds. When I changed to shots a few weeks later my arthrits doctor asked what I had done my blood was back to normal. I explained that I had switched from T gels to shots. I firmly beleive that the gels causing my blood to become thicher than normal lead to chest pains and having heart stents. I was on gels for years. Now on shots and doing much better. My skin got where it would not asorb the gels and would only make my blood thicher than normal. Guest guest
last year when I got diagnosed with RA they had me on a medrol dose pack and the same thing happened with the stiffness returning after the first few big doses. I was then on daily prednisone which helped. I still to this day have negative RA factor. The Rheumatologist that I see said my CRP was 84 (supposed to be less than 4) and that my symptoms indicated RA so he would treat me as such. the goal was to get my symptoms to go away and then wean me off the meds, if the symptoms came back then we knew I had RA. I lasted about 4 months till the symptoms really flared bad. By time I got back in to the Rheumy I was in bad shape so i got a nice cortisone shot in my shoulder, a methotrexate shot and back on my daily triple cocktail of meds.  Everybody is different and some people never have positive blood work and not everybody responds to the same meds. sorry to ramble on. hope you get it worked out! I have yet to see that one. The RA Latex was negative, the CBC, BMP (glucose, potassium, etc..)iron, B12 were just fine. Wondering how many of you had all normal test results and still have RA? How did they diagnose, just by symptoms? I have yet to see the CRP, Sed rate or ANA. We shall see about those. Also, finished the medrol dose pack a day ago. I started it Friday and by Sunday felt like ME!! But by around day 4 as the dose came down to the last 3 pills, I noticed the stiffness returning. How many of you have had results like this once the first day or two of medrol are done? It was the typical 4 mg pack, fyi. Thanks,
Guest guest
Hi - I have what they call sero-negative RA, meaning my RA tests come back negative. CRP and ESR will measure the levels of inflammation in your body. Between that and clinical observation, your Rheumy can make a diagnosis. My labs usually come back all normal. I've been the rounds with the Medrol dose packs too. It will keep your inflammation down, but usually only while you're on it. Be sure to take notes with you so you can inform your Rheumy on how you're feeling so he/she can properly treat your symptoms. Best of luck to you..... Guest guest
I've done the medrol pack twice. The first time, the results have lasted to this day (took the pack about four years ago) after finishing the pack, and the relief was almost immediate. It was for a badly pinched nerve in my back and hip. The pain and inability to move never returned, for which I am grateful. The second time, in February of last year, I was given the pack for extreme pain and swelling from the RA in my wrist/hand, and my left ankle. It took effect within four hours--I was virtually pain free and SO happy! Within 24 hours of finishing the pack, all pain and swelling returned. I had been hoping that the effects would be much longer lasting, as they had been from the first experience. However, I am assuming now that the first time was treating a problem that was not completely related to the RA, whereas the second time was more fully RA related. The first time out, I thought it was a miracle drug! lol Guess I learned a lot from those two experiences. I'm now taking a daily dose of prednisone, which only somewhat alleviates the pain, swelling, and stiffness of the RA. I have not yet spoken to the doc about it, as I am not overly interested in upping the dosage because of side-effects. I'm still looking for more natural " fixes " to this problem. Between the prednisone, the methotrexate, the sulfa stuff, and the folic acid, I have not gotten as much relief as I had hope. A bit better, but not enough, in my estimation, to want to increase dosages or move on to the more expensive meds out there. It's like a circus.
