Guest guest
Back when my kids were little (ie ten years ago), Jerabek was supposed to be a very good school for mainstream kids. I don't know what it's like for sped kids. If the teacher is motivated and starts out with a good brain to begin with LOL (can you tell that I've been dealing with some teachers with less than a full deck this year???) Anyway, sounds like it could be a good situation. See if you can observe both of them and see what you think. Guest guest
Tamara -- I can't comment on PA and pregnancy because I didn't have trouble with PA until I was well past that time but I wish you well with the pregnancy and hope you can get on PA meds as soon as possible. MTX cleared up the spots of inverse psoriasis that I had. One was so small that it never came back but the big one came right back when I quit taking MTX. I do not believe it was ever yeast and the only thing that helps is psoriasis meds and keeping it dry. I hope you never settle for bad care again. I feel finding a doctor is just like shopping for shoes. If they don't fit don't buy them. Cheri :-)) What made me post again was another post I read about inverse? Psoriasis. (I could be spelling wrong) Anyway, she mentioned having it under each breast, and being diagnosed as a yeast infection. That same thing happened to me, I have it very badly under both breasts, and my bad rhumy said it was yeast infection, and gave me 3 rounds of meds for it. I told him it was P before I left, and that he needed to go back to school. The only time it goes away is with P treatment. Wow, that was wordy! Sorry! Take care all of you warriors, Tamara
Guest guest
Hi Theresa, I'm so sorry your pain is so bad right now. You were very descriptive about how it feels, perhaps if you printed it off and asked your doctor to read it. Tell him (her?) you are serious about how much pain you are in. If you can't do that, be sure to tell the rheumy when you see him. I'll hope they can find something to bring some relief.
Guest guest
Poeterri, you expressed PA or whatever they decide I have so well. But I suspect that you are a young 'un based on the wedding you are getting ready for. I think drs. tend to think youth exaggerates. If you have your dr., rheumy, etc. web address, send your descriptions of your pain, etc. If not, keep a copy and be ready to stand up to them and keep telling them. Was it the rheumy that prescribed Tylenol-3? Good luck, Sylvia

Guest guest
HI, PENNY, I DON'T THINK ANYTHING YOU WROTE IS OFF TOPIC. ALL THAT STRESS WILL TAKE A TOLL ON YOUR HEALTH FOR SURE, ESPECIALLY THE ACHALASIA. I'M GLAD YOU ARE LOOKING BEYOND YOUR LOCAL AREA AND CONSIDERING TORONTO. SURELY YOU WILL FIND THE RIGHT DOC FOR YOU SOON. YOU MUST HAVE A WONDERFUL DAD. DESPITE HIS OWN SITUATION, HE IS CONCERNED ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. I HOPE YOU WILL SPEND EVERY MINUTE YOU CAN WITH HIM. MY DAD DIED VERY SOON AFTER THEY GAVE HIM THE LIFE SENTENCE. (ALTHOUGH THEY HAD THE DIAGNOSIS WRONG, THEY WERE RIGHT ABOUT IT BEING TERMINAL) ENJOY HIM WHILE YOU CAN! Guest guest
Penny, I was about to write a message to you, but Martha just said everything I wanted to say! Enjoy as much time with your dad as you can. I lost my dad when I was 16 after he asked me for my permission to die. He was in a lot of pain, so it wasn't a difficult decision for me to make, but I was young and didn't have as much time with him as I wish I'd had. I do have wonderful memories though, so I will pray that your surgery appointment comes up really soon so you can have some time to make some really special memories with your dad. Hugs and Special Prayers coming your way... Sandi Re: HELLO AGAIN HI, PENNY, I DON'T THINK ANYTHING YOU WROTE IS OFF TOPIC. Guest guest
Yep. I didn't realize until a few weeks after my THR how much the pre-op pain had affected my outlook on life. The grinding (literally) daily pain took a much greater toll than I was aware of. I didn't even put up a Christmas tree last year! This year it's already up, along with outside lights... . Blessings, -----Original Message-----From: marge [mailto:palybami@...] Sent: Sunday, November 28, 2004 5:58 PMJoint Replacement Subject: HELLO AGAIN Hi all, I solved my problem. I left the group and came back. End of story. I have been reading the letters on the web page for a couple of days, and I noticed some of you talking about attitudes. I remember how awful I was last year at this time. I refused to trim the tree, and all I did was sit and cry. I snarled at people and I slammed things. This was the pain talking. Life is lot more fun with three new joints. Does anyone agree with me? Marge HE LIVES!

Guest guest
Oh, Pam. What a Christmas present you just gave me! I am so thrilled for you. Congratulations on the successful activation. It's nice to hear - isn't it? Enjoy this very special time. These days immediately after the activation are so filled with delight and new and exciting moments. Your Dry and Store can stay plugged in the time. The actual drying should be 8 hours. Then it automatically turns itself off. If you get up in the morning and find that a light is still on, it means it isn't finished - you didn't sleep 8 hours. ;-) Have fun, Pam and when you can find the time, please be sure to share it all. Guest guest
Thanks Lee for that info on the dry and store. Actually I think it did rain 5 out of the 7 days we were there but at least it didn't rain so hard we couldn't go anywhere (light drizzle most of the time) AND we even had one sunny afternoon. Based on your weather report we bought umbrellas and I bought a hat and we wore our goretex jackets with the hoods.. and I used the hoods several times to protect my head. Monday after activation, we went to PIKES market and it was a downpour outside. Guest guest
Pam, Congrats on your activation. What a great Christmas gift. When I was implanted 3 years ago, I was activated just after the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday so Christmas was my first hearing holiday in many years too, and what a Christmas it was.. hearing my grandchildren is one of the reasons I got my implant. It's so much fun to sit and share reading time with them, listen to their funny little comments and to share their excitement about life in general. I hope you really enjoy all the sights and sounds of what I'm sure will be a season to remember. Thanks for sharing with us and hope all continues to go well for you. Guest guest
Cheers for Pam!!! Hello! and so glad that your first mapping went so well. You're doing very well and certainly have a positive attitude and sense of adventure! Your first experience was similar to mine in that I was understanding everything as long as the speaker was in front of me and speaking clearly. I just wanted to congratulate you on your first map and wish you the very best as you begin your journey to hearing again. Good Luck! Gayle P.S. Guest guest
Thanks ! So this time of year is an anniversary of sorts for you too! Congratulations! You're right! It is all just a wonderful experience. I tried out some of the accessories today and had fun doing that too. I need to make an appointment for a mapping with the audiologist here in Anchorage. I haven't even met her or had any interactions with her yet so that should be interesting too. Pam S. (in Anchorage) Re: Hello again Pam, Congrats on your activation. What a great Christmas gift. Guest guest
Thanks Gayle! I've been taking the processor cover off when I use the dry and store. The instructions say " Leave the battery door open " so that was my interpretation of those words. Apparently if you have to take the CI out before the 8 hrs is up, it won't do any harm to it and still will have refreshed the processor. I am sorry I didn't thank you all sooner - but then that is a whole other story! My baby Madeleine ( who is two now !!) nearly died in hospital less than a week after my dad - and the same dad we had to move house - so that was an interesting time. I have to say that I hope I can continue to learn and I hope contribute. I am gratified that at last I am no longer one of the bonkers minority that are questioning if the rise in language difficulties and autism are at all related to vaccine or enviromental assault. And diet dosen't seem such a ridiculous thing to look at anymore. Charlie is having sensory integration therapy and loves it ( actually hard to get here in the UK ). We are looking at the latest in chelation. And Madeleine is herself quite intersting as she has tested with very low IgA and is being investigated for coliac. My paediatrician was very resistant when I asked for her to be tested as she has NO symptoms . But her IgA result had him flumoxed and now he is very intetrested. Anyway - back and proving that I really never can do a brief posting... Thanks again for your thoughts and kind words. Regards Deborah.
