Guest guest
Thanks Barbara for the response, your word are always very comforting. I rest when I can (and here I am telling my son all the time he is in College that he should forge ahead always, he can rest when he dies - L0L:)), sometimes it hurts more to rest too. It is comforting to know that someday I will be in remish too. Thanks, OKD
Guest guest
Hi OKD.  My friend made me some heating pads with cracked corn that you feed chickens. She made a long one out of nice fabric, sewed the sides, added the corn, then sewed the end. This type goes around your neck. I also have a nice square one made with pretty materical with cracked corn. I heat these in the micro wave, about 3 min. so they are very hot. I wrap them in a towel and put them on the area I am hurting. They seem to last forever. She fills them 3/4 full.  I hope you find the cracked corn and make these. They are simply wonderful, hold the heat, and feel good. So inexpensive to make too.  I hope you are feeling better.  Hugs,  Barbara From: OKD <Cofade_2000@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Cramping of the hands Date: Friday, March 25, 2011, 9:55 AM  Thanks for your responses: I LOVE the hot wax too. Plus, I use hot rice in baggies. I notice when I used to go to Rehab, they had hot corn husks heated up, but I dont know where to find them. Its just our bodies way of telling us to chillax - L0L:)) OKD
Guest guest
Barbara, before I read your post, I found instructions on making corn and rice heating bags. It sounds like a fun project. I might make one of these to put in my bread basket to keep my rolls hot during dinner. http://quiltbug.com/articles/microwave-bag.htm Becca On 3/25/2011 10:21 AM, Barbara Creedon wrote: > > Hi OKD. > > My friend made me some heating pads with cracked corn that you feed > chickens. Guest guest
Hi Becca.  I checked out that website and loved it. Thanks so much. I never knew you could use rice also.  Hugs,  Barbara BARBARA > > Hi OKD. > > My friend made me some heating pads with cracked corn that you feed > chickens. Guest guest
I had a friend make me a couple of corn bags for my birthday. So I gave my sister, Mom, and sister-in-law two each for Christmas. My sister-in-law has RA also. They all loved them. One year for Christmas my husband got me a mitt that you warm in the microwave and that is really nice too. Guest guest
> >First, thanks for the ideas. How do they use the corn husks that are heated? I've never heard of that. Couldn't use just get some corn on the cob at the grocery store, eat (or cut off) the corn and use the husk? in California > > Thanks for your responses: > > > > I LOVE the hot wax too.
