Guest guest
Hi Anne: The Wound Center here in Framingham is connected to the local Hospital - The Metro-West Medical Center - They treat wounds and sores of all kinds. Bob started with a pressure wound and that cleared up with DuoDerm which they applied there. He was followed up at home with Home Health Care who changed the DuoDerm form of bandage every few days. The wounds were on his rear end. He had 2 of them at that time. While he was being treated for that he fell and broke his arm. It was a bad break and he had to be hospitalized for more than a week followed by 21 Days of Rehab at a Center in Framingham called Oak Knoll. He recovered from that wound and while having Home Health Care for his arm he got a new kind of sore in almost the same place which resembles small pin pricks of blood like he was a pincushion. A few times it almost heals up and seems to start again. Right now it is almost healed again. Right after Labor Day he will be going back to the Wound Center for a follow-up. He still has Home Health Care because of this wound condition. They keep an eye on it and follow the treatment and bandaging that the Wound Center has recommended. Bob's is not a deep wound or as drastic as some other people have told me their condition is but his is persistent and is wearing him down. Hope you are feeling better and your bleeding condition can be treated successfully. Bob cannot walk without assistance at this point. His speech and swallowing is also getting difficult too. He also sees the " Little People " but they have not visited as much lately. They (the Little People) are probably mad because Bob said one day he wanted to make sure they were fed and I said " NO WAY " . Bob's Neuro said last week that he probably has had Shy-Drager since the early 90 " s when she went back on some of his records. I'm not sure a Wound Center treats internal bleeding - from what I see and hear it seems to be mostly wounds on the skin surface that are difficult and do not respond to regular treatment. God Bless you and your family - I saw your pictures on Charmayne " s Photo Group. Good Health and Good Luck in your pursuit of some help with your condition.
