Guest guest
Hi - I'm seeing a rheumy for the first time next week. I was dx'd a few weeks ago by my GP (arthritis panel blood test and physical exam). What can I expect on this first appointment? I have pretty severe brain fog at times and have some concerns about communication. For one thing, I am really sensitive to medications and I'm really concerned that he won't hear me on this issue. While most people get a little activated on steroids, for instance, I get a major surge - can't sleep at all, totally wired, heart racing, etc. I react that way even to B vitamins, although not to that extreme. I guess I'm not even sure what I'm asking here; just really unsure what to expect from the visit itself and what he might potentially prescribe for me. Thanks, Pat
Guest guest
I am very sensitive to medications too. Please stress that to your Rheumy so you won't end up with a bad reaction to meds. If nothing else, your rheumy will at least start you off on a lower dosage of something than what would be given to someone who can handle that same medication. That's what I had to do.
