Mouth Sores!

Hi everyone,

Well I was on MTX 10mg for 5 weeks and I stopped it because I was in the ER with

my daughter the night I was supposed to take it. I was also on antibiotics so I

figured I can skip a week. The next week came and I was getting over a very bad

stomach virus. I didn't want to chance taking it. So that was 2 weeks off. When

I was on it I felt great. The only side effects I had was being tired the next

day. I was taking my folic acid 1mg the whole time except the 3 days I couldn't

when I had the virus. So, I took my MTX on Fri and the next day I woke up with a

mouth sore. Later that day I got another. The next day another. So by Monday I

had 3. They were mild but I called the Dr's office they told me to up the folic

acid to 3 a day, so 3mg. Sore 1 and 2 are getting a little better. The 3rd one

feels like it is on my gum and another spot between my gum and the mouth area.

What really hurts the most is my gum it is about 4 teeth width in size. I don't

see any kinds of sore there. Can this just be my gums are having an issue? I

have never had problems with my gums nor my teeth in the past. I have been

swishing with mouth sore stuff by origel. It does feel better after but like 30

mins or an 1 hour later it starts hurting again. I started taking 3 folic acid

pills at night on Monday.

Question is: why am I getting these now when I didn't before? What is up with my

gum? Any suggestions on what I can do or things that might have helped you?

Thanks,

Cheli
