Guest guest
I think it is a mistake, I hope it is a mistake. My father had a false extremely elevated cancer marker blood test last year, his values were off the charts but much in colon cancer range after re taking the test a few days later. (He is currently in remission=) Anyone ever experienced this kind of thing? KD
Guest guest
Hi KD I have never experienced this but last year my Hubby Dr called and said to come into the office to discuss the results of the blood test. We got there worried as could be. He started out saying he had some good news and bad news. His chol was great but unfortunately he was pregnant... If Tom ( the Dr) had not been a friend I think my Hubby would have dropped him after we stopped laughing that is. He did actually get the right results before we came in and most were what we expected.. Just goes to show you, labs mess up. Guest guest
Thanks Heidi! Wow, glad your dear husband wasnt pregnant after all =) I am almost losing my mind waiting till Friday to get my docs interpretation of my blood test results! Calling Monday to seek any cancelletion appts. ANA should be back Monday afternoon as well. I wonder if I need to prepare for RA or SLE........the sores and scabs on my fingers makes me suspect SLE but doc said that the Raynauds can accompny RA as well, and could have caused it too. Then of course I have to wonder if I do have kidney problems with the blood test showing kidney failure level, but hope it is a lab mix up, or the fact that I only had water for over 17 hours. Hope it is not infact true. I wish I would have had better results with the prednisone, it has helped the sweling and I definately am getting around better, but the fever, fatigue and muscle pain are still here. Thanks for the kind reply, I am in the cold too, snowing here in Colorado tonight. Guest guest
KD, It could be that you had too much water and it affected the outcome of the test. Guest guest
KD - while it is important to get the results and keep a record of our bloodwork and other tests that we have done, sometimes I think it is better to get the results directly from the doctor who ordered them so that he has the opportunity to review and discuss these results with you BEFORE you get a copy. All of this worry and anxiety isn't good for you. I pray they can get you in earlier than Friday, but in the meantime, take a deep breath and RELAX. At this rate you are going to have yourself worked up into a total wreck by the time you get to see the doctor.....Doreen > > Thanks Heidi! > > Wow, glad your dear husband wasnt pregnant after all =) > > I am almost losing my mind waiting till Friday to get my docs > interpretation of my blood test results!
