Guest guest
Hi Dawn: welcome to the group, What I can suggest is that just continue taking your VCO, as this will improve your condition better in the long run, base on my experience. I'd like to share my experience w/ you that VCO did to me, before I had this terrible pain on my urinary tract or kidney itself, pain on nape whenever I eat a lot (maybe it's high blood, cause I did never went to a doctor, its not that am afraid), my feet heating up whenver I eat sweets, carbohydrate, etc., hand's fingers aching & other discomforts. I start taking VCO when I heard the wonders of the coco oil. The first few days all of these were gone believe it or not. & cleansing effect on my digestive tract too, meaning I have to go to the comfort room often. The first few days I was taking 4 tbsp a day after that I heard there was no side effect if taking it more than the necessary dosage I started taking it up to 10 tbsp a day. Now if you try taking more than the required amount that is 1-4 tbsp a day, you will sometimes feel stomach pain, dizziness it is OK just continue it. If you have any query just email me again, I will get back to you, bye for now & thanks very much, Ciao. Respectfully yours, Lookyee, Singha dawnybloom <dawnybloom@...> wrote: hi my name is Dawn and I am new to the group. I take VCO and have done for two months I have lost over a stone in weight the first time in many years to be going the other way.!! My Liver has been damaged by medication the Dr gave me twice!! for an ulcer and I just wondered if any one on the forum know of any thing I can take as I still get a slight knawing at night and have no idea what to do as I don`t want my ulcer to flare up. Also the VCO repeats on me at times in the day it is not too horible just does it and I wondered if others have found this. I am sorry if I am repeating some things that may already have been discussed earlier but as I said I am new. Thank you all for any input you can give me I do appreciate it. Guest guest
I had a lot of stomach issues prior to taking coconut oil and I noticed the more I took it the less stomach aches I had. I went on Bruce's Coconut Oil fast (found in Coconut Cures) and I have not had a problem since. No reflux, no pain, NOTHING. Jeanne
Guest guest
Anybody have problems with gastric or other types of stomach ulcers.I am seeing the doc next week and boy do we have a lot to talk about. I read that RA sufferers are more apt to have one. Until I get to the doc any advice. I am down to bread and cheese. Everything else seems to give me trouble. Guest guest
Please research celiac disease it is also an autoimmune disease. New research is showing a high correlation with RA and diabetes. Going gluten free has reduced my inflamation immensely. I had gastroparesis and major stomach bleeds in the past. My body was not absorbing nutrients and I was quite anemic. Good luck.. Guest guest
I developed an ulcer at the age of 17 ( I'm 39 now) that caused me to become very very ill. I went from 145lbs to 105lbs in less than 30 days from not being able to keep anything down and the stress. Today I can eat just about anything I want except very greasy things or certain fast foods because of the type of oils they use to fry in. I can tell you how I over came my issues but everyone is different so I can't be sure that it will work best for you. Make sure to check with a doctor so they can monitor you so that what can be a minor thing to correct and fix doesn't become something life threatening. First thing I was told to do at the ER was to make sure to coat my tummy before trying to eat. They used to tell people to drink milk to do this but they discovered that this was not the best advice. Dairy products cause the stomach to produce more acid to be able to digest it. Therefore avoid all dairy as it raises the acid level in the stomach. Instead invest in liquid Malox and drink some before trying to eat to help line the stomach. My doctor I have now has me take 2 Prilosec a day when I do have issues. I take one in the morning and one at night for 2 weeks to help heal and stabalize my tummy. I was very happy when they started having all these meds OTC as it cut the cost a lot. Your next job is to start out with very bland easy to digest foods. I lived on sandwiches, crackers, and dry cereal for awhile. When I say sandwich I mean bland bread, slight mayo because of the oil content ( I had trouble with mustard), and bland meat (bolied ham or turkey). I had to eat for strength not for taste for quite a while till I could digest normally to give my stomach time to heal. You have to avoid all foods that are hard to digest or produce excess stomach acid. No raw veggies and no nuts for sure. You may want to do abit of research to see what foods need more acid to digest as I haven't had to do that part in a very long time. I was also told to drink nutition drinks to get my vitamine and mineral intake so my malnutrition issues didn't get worse while I couldn't eat a balanced diet. I drank Ensure and it helped alot because taking vitamine pills gave me acid reflux. My last tip for you is to eat very slowly chewing very well so the tummy doesn't have to work as hard to digest the food. Also, eat very small portions at a time and make sure you are not burning or nauseus before eating. I still till this day carry club crackers with me everywhere I go to nibble on if I feel nausea from my tummy issues or my meds. I was a very sick person by the time I saw a doctor. I was so sick and young that they thought I was Anorexic and causing myself to throw up everthing I ate at first and that stress on top of my other stresses was alot to deal with. I hope you find the relief you need very soon. I will keep you and your husband in my prays and hope that you both recover very quickly. Guest guest
Hi Carol, I think that I have written a small novel about my tummy and RA, something like War and Peace. I have had everything from gastritis to bleeding ulcers. I have had trouble with celebrex = ulcers; methotrexate = explosive diarrhea. The list of medications and GI woes just goes on and on. Two weeks ago I was in the hospital due to GI bleeding that nearly killed me. I wish you the best of luck with your new GI doc and be sure to keep him or her on your holiday list & try to find out from his receptionist when his birthday is. Guest guest
Hi again Carol, Gee you do have a full schedule over the next few weeks. I hope that your husband's knee surgery goes well. The medical field has tried their might to fix my tummy but without success. I wish that I had some real help for you. The only thing that has really helped me recently is Protonix. The only problem is that my insurance company doesn't feel that it would help me all that much. Doc does, ins co doesn't. I too had all of the usual GI surgeries. I had a gall bladder attack during my first pregnancy. After I had my first baby, then I had my first gall bladder stone and my gall bladder stopped working along with the gall bladder stone burning an ulcer in my stomach. They have even sent me to University of Miami and then to the University of Chicago While there they performed and ERCP and developed pancreatitis. It is just recently that my doctors have put this all together with the RA and my bleeding disorder. It takes a really sharp doc to say " hey this lady has a lot of these symptoms and a lot of other symptoms and if you put them together along with this lab work " . It is kind of like 1+1=2 and not 4. I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. Gentle, tender angel hugs............ Guest guest
My son has the same problem, stomach ulcers but not H. Pylori, so I too would be very interested to read any answers to your question.Lilian A friend of mine has stomach ulcers, but she says the test for H Pylori came back negative, so she is left without a cure. I seem to remember someone saying the NHS test was not that reliable and they had to have a test with a specialist in Oxford ( ? )
Guest guest
Thanks, Sheila. I found what I wanted in the end by typing in " H Pylori Oxford " . Miriam > Miriam - type 'H Pylori testing' into the little search engine at the top of the 'Messages' page on our forum, and you will get loads of previous messages up about this. Go through them until you find the one you are looking for.
