Guest guest
add 2 teaspoons to one quart of tepid distilled water. Administer nightly. For severe infections use twice per day. Vaginal infection Dear Group, Does anybody know if it ok to douche with CS for a vaginal infection? If so, how much; how often? I'm assuming it's safe to douche with, if it's safe to drink. Would drinking it also be beneficial for a vaginal infection alone with douching. Thanks, Gail

Gail, Just be aware that as wonderful as CS is, it doesn't kill parasites. So, for instance, if you have a trichomonas infection, the CS might not bring relief. However, if there are bacteria that are released by the trich (sometimes microbes live in other, larger microbes), that will be killed. Another thing: Should you decide to use ozone for vaginal insufflation, if the microbe is aerobic the infection could get worse. (At least in this instance the insufflation can be used as a diagnostic tool.) Good luck. Nina

It is usually in the aisle with bandaids. Costs about $3. Also get some geletin capsules. Fill some capsules with boric acid powder. Then insert one or two of the boric acid capsules in the yeasty vagina once or twice a day. This is EXTREMELY effective, as well as cheap, easy and non-prescription. The boric acid package will say for external use only. I have checked with several sources (including a very conservative allopathic MD) and believe this is safe. A websearch on " boric acid " should also get you some other renditions of the same basic process I just said. Not only do I swear by this remedy, I have been thanked and praised for passing it along to other women-- it works. Your friend might also want to look into the possibility that she may have mercury poisoning, once she is feeling a bit better. Mercury tox can cause recurrent yeast infections. best, Moria p.s. I have no idea what, if any, effect this has on parasites.

Ghadiali. Spectro-Chrome Therapy utilizes the healing properties of the various wavelengths of visible light, which we see as colors. The deficiency or excess of a visible light frequency can unbalance the body in many different ways. (This has its basis in the colors that minerals emit under spectroscopy.) The therapy is administered as follows: Flexible clear plastic color filters of very specific frequencies are placed in front of an incandescent or natural light source and shone directly onto the bare skin (or fur, if it's an animal) over different areas, depending on the problem. For microbial infections, a green color filter (green has direct antiseptic properties) can also be wrapped around a glass Mason jar filled with water, to impart the frequencies into the water. Then the water can be drunk. For vaginal problems, the water can also be used as a douche. From the 1920s, this therapy was used successfully for over two decades by the Senior Surgeon of the Woman's Hospital of Philadelphia Kate W. Baldwin, who wrote in an abstract of a paper presented at the clinical meeting of the Section on Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases of the Medical Society of the State of Pennsylvania on October 12, 1926 (and is quoted on the Spectro-Chrome website): " For about six years I have given close attention to the action of colors in restoring the body functions, and I am perfectly honest in saying that, after nearly thirty-seven years of active hospital and private practice in medicine and surgery, I can produce quicker and more accurate results with colors than with any or all other methods combined-and with less strain on the patient. In many cases, the functions have been restored after the classical remedies have failed. " In order to properly administer Spectro-Chrome Therapy, you must obtain a copy of *Let There Be Light* by Darius Dinshah. It's available from the Dinshah Health Society PO Box 707, Malaga, New Jersey 08328; ; www.wj.net/dinshah/ I have used the color therapy to eliminate two uterine cysts and deal with candida. A friend of mine used it to eliminate tapeworms from her system. It's inexpensive. You can get the book color gels for the light, video and Dinshah newsletters for about $50; and once you have these things, you're set up for life. This therapy really works. Some people feel that it's too simple-- " What's the catch? " they want to know--so this wonderful modality is unfortunately underutilized. I have not had any since I've used it for a past yeast infection and I use to get them quite often. " Lemon " (yellow green, really) for cysts and candida, yellow for parasites. You MUST get the book. This is the only and best guide for this particular system of color therapy. It is very inexpensive. And the plastic color filters to get are listed in the book. You MUST get the filters listed in the book because of their particular wavelengths. Guest guest
I am not a physician yet I know that is correct. Good Physicians will also ask you if you are prone to yeast infections when they prescribed antibiotics and will give you a prescription just in case you need it. -----Original Message----- Antibiotics are the worst things you can take if it is a yeast infection they are often a cause in teh first place read all the posts on candida, read on teh net and treat it as such and that will help better Dawn
Guest guest
Hi again. I have had to deal with an ongoing vaginal yeast infection this year too. I couldn't stand the discomfort so didn't want to wait until I could get my overall candida levels reduced, so I've been douching with homemade yogurt when necessary. For the first week I douched once a day every day, and then tapered off. After a course of antibiotics (for my gastric issues) my vaginal discomfort would return, so I'd douche again for a week or two. I make my own yogurt so I can ferment it 24 hours and remove as much of the lactose as I can so I can digest it. I feel comfortable using it since I know there are no additives that sometimes are found in commercial yogurt. If you didn't want to tackle making your own yogurt, then I would think a commercial plain yogurt would work as well. I've read emails from many other women who also use yogurt as a douche, so it is a helpful thing to do. I think we discussed this a few months ago; you might try searching the group's archives and see what other advice there is. I think there were variations on the douching method, if I remember correctly. Kim M.
Guest guest
Well, I spent an hour online trying to confirm this and decided I'd be better off asking the real experts! So, can anyone describe to me what a vaginal yeast infection looks like in a child? I called 's ped yesterday and she felt confident diagnosing it over the phone, which is nice but considering PID pumpkins sometimes go their own unique way, I wanted to be sure. She's been on Augmentin for 9 days for a LRI, so yeast makes sense. It's a rash all over her genitals from the clitoris all the way back onto the anus. It's not super red, it's like little pink spots plus some small ulcerated slits that look sort of peeled. The vagina itself looks red inside. No discharge, though she has described it as still feeling " watery " ever since I put the miconazole on last night (externally only, per doc's instructions). She was screaming and crying with the burning from the miconazole, poor thing. I'm not looking forward to all the applications we're going to have to do, considering her reaction the first time. Man, these poor pumpkins. Vaginal yeast infections are sooooooooo miserable, I am sort of upset she has to endure this along with everything else. And I know that the first time I ever got one (I was in college, not 6 years old!!!!!), it opened the door for many recurrences. Sigh. So she's on the miconazole cream, and I guess I'll break down and give her yogurt with active cultures, but her reflux is wildly out of control ever since she went on the Augmentin. I have a chewable acidophilus but it gives her " urps " too. Anyone know of a dairy free chewable and where to get it fast? The one we have has lactobacillus acidophilus and I guess that means dairy (the " lacto " )since it gave her such terrible reflux previously? Also, we've been using a bubble bath this past week for the first time in years, maybe that's added to her misery. I'll throw that out. Any advice or experience? Thanks -- (mom to , age 6, dairy intolerant-related GERD -- currently has polysaccharide antibody def, previously had transient IgG, IgA, t-cell & other defs... and also to Kate, age 2, more dairy intolerant but very healthy!) If it is just yeast she will probably be given Diflucan by mouth and rub the cream you have on the outside. I would take her in ASAP. Guest guest
The description you're giving really does sound like the way it can look. We had problems with this, mainly with our oldest daughter. We knew what it looked like so could nip it in the bud with our youngest. The bubble bath had to go for her too (sniff!). Now that she is ten, I OCCASIONALLY let her take them, but she knows she has to rinse her privates really well with clear water after the water has all drained out. And I made her go to bed with no panties on (she HATED that. She even wears panties with her leotards and swim suits.) When she took a bath, I would also add some apple cider vinegar to the water. A light cortazone cream may help it heal faster. I'd check with the doc about it though to be sure. I say that because mine prescribed a cream that I later found out was one. But it really helped. http://www.dermnet.com/moduleIndex.cfm?moduleID=18 & numcols=0 If you scroll down on the page, there is a whole group of links to pictures of yeast infection on various parts of the body. (Yeast Perleche refers to the corners of the mouth, and Yeast Webs refers to between the fingers) Warning: pictures are pretty explicit and some are really gross. http://www.askdrsears.com/html/8/T081401.asp shows a yeast rash on a baby. Also found on this website: a.. 1.. Yeast rash - when the skin is damaged, yeast from the intestines can invade the skin. This especially occurs with antibiotic use or prolonged rash. 2.. Appearance - it is a red, raised, patchy rash with sharp borders, mostly over the genitalia but with satellite spots sprinkled around the diaper area. a.. Treatment - in addition to the above measures, there are two commonly used anti-fungal creams: a.. Clotrimazole - over-the-counter. Apply 2 - 3 times a days beneath the other creams. b.. Nystatin - prescription. Not necessarily better, just different. c.. Acidophilus - this is a natural bacterial powder that fights off yeast. Poor baby! I was an adult before I got one. I think almost 27. Now I get them whenever my sugar is too high. I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM! Hope it resolves quickly WITH NO REOCCURANCE. God bless, Wenoka Re: vaginal infection Well, I spent an hour online trying to confirm this and decided I'd be better off asking the real experts! In fact, last time it was: 5 or 7 nights of metrogel, wait a week, take a diflucan and THEN a different cream (name escapes me right now) for 2 weeks on the outside. KNOCK WOOD...... I have not had a problems since. I must admit though... I am also not currently taking prednisone. Seems like I flare up when I take Prednisone. I am resistant to monistat and the one that starts with terc. RA sucks. There are so many other things that go wrong from the meds we take.... I hate it. *~ Kami ~* Re: [ ] Vaginal infection Of course I meant bacterial infections, not antibiotic infections. The first time I had a yeast infection, the doctor prescribed something for a bacterial infection, thinking that this was what I had. Killing off the bacteria allowed the yeast to really flourish! That's what will happen now if I use the Metronidazole, and and it turns out that it is a yeast infection. I'm not going to risk it tonight, since I have that bus trip tomorrow. After that, I guess I'll try the Metronidazole and see what happens. I certainly may need to see a GYN, but I don't have one. My PCP serves as my GYN, too. I will find one if I have to, though. Guest guest
So, Kami, what happened to the yeast infection while you were on the MetroGel? Did it get worse? Ill have to look up my pharmacy records to be sure. *~ Kami ~* Re: [ ] Vaginal infection So, Kami, what happened to the yeast infection while you were on the MetroGel? Did it get worse? Guest guest
It's the itching like hell that I can't stand. That's one reason I still think it's a yeast infection. I don't think anything burns like that. I have googled and googled, and cannot find any article that says a strep b infection causes symptoms that include that agonizing itching. Guest guest
Sue, you've had a time of it, are u calling the nurse again? Kate f Sent from my iPhone On Jun 24, 2009, at 12:16 PM, marysue <marysue@...> wrote: Today I called my PCP and told her that I still had the vaginal infection. I told her that I thought it was a yeast infection, even though the culture did not show yeast. I pointed out that the infection did get better after using Monistat and taking Diflucan. I told her that candiasis was one of the side effects of Enbrel, and that I would like to try something stronger than the OTC Monistat that I had already used, something like Terconazole. So what did she do? She called in a prescription for Metronidazole Vaginal, which is for antibiotic infections! And of course one side effect of that is a yeast infection! So what should I do? I'm going on a bus trip tomorrow, and I certainly don't want to make the situation worse than it already is. Advice needed! Sue
