I am having the same probelm with Enbrel. constant sinus problems. I guess both of the work on lowering our immunity so to answer your question, I think the answer is yes. Guest guest
I had chronic sinus for many years prior to starting on MTX. I had a sinus operation in 1996 which has eliminated the headaches, but I still have sinus problems. I believe that sinus is part of my PA. Guest guest
I have had a recurring sinus infection since Nov. of last year. I have gone through 6 courses of antibiotics and every antihistamine or decongestant invented. Not to mention numerous nasal sprays and 2 steroid injections (to open up my sinuses). Also, I have some asthmatic symptoms that required Singulair and an Albuterol inhaler. I have chronic sinusitis and ulcers inside my nose. I saw an ENT yesterday and who ordered a CAT scan of my sinuses and put me on 4 new meds (I'll post them when I pick up my prescriptions). My ENT doesn't know a thing about Enbrel so he didn't tell me if I should quit or not. I see my rheumy soon so I will have to ask him. I would rather deal with the sinus infections than the arthritis (although neither of them are fun). good luck, Les
Guest guest
I saw my primary care last week because of a chronic sinus infection. She gave me an antibiotic and instructed me to start my Mtx again on the 29th. But I still have one antibiotic to take on the 29th. I skipped my Mtx on the 22nd. On the 24th, the fatigue and nausea came back. I don't know if the Remicade is wearing off -- my next infusion is January 6th, or if the Mtx actually helps with the fatigue and nausea. I have to go to work now -- hoping I can make it for my 4 hours -- actually I don't have much of a choice. My solution is to call the RA's office to ask about the Mtx next Monday -- either after work today or on Monday. I don't like to get off schedule with the Mtx. After making an appointment months ago for Jan 6th, I got a call that my Rhu is out of the office that day, so I'll be seeing someone else -- a woman. My PC doc said that she is a physician's assistant that works in his office and that it might be a good thing for me to get to know her. I also made an eye appointment for the 6th, just before my infusion. I've got just enough going on with my thyroid that I'm concerned about my eyes. dd **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Mail. Try it now. Guest guest
A lot of people use sinus washes, like Neti pots. Connie [ ] Sinus infection So I've had a sinus infection for the last week. First time I've had one of these - I guess my immune system is lower with the Lyme. My PCP recommended Africa. For 3-5 days but I'm not sure I see the point as I don't feel contested anymore - I.e. I can breathe through my nose even at night but I have pain in all the sinus areas and lots of green gunk for the last 7 days. Any other options other than the Afrin? Thanks! Guest guest
The neti pot has been very good - my nose is no longer blocked but I still have pain in all of my sinuses and head pain whenever I bend my head forward. Can I take Motrin along with Buhner herbs?
Guest guest
I triple the vote for using a neti pot. It has been a LIFESAVER in my endless round of sinus infections. Washes them right away!
Guest guest
colloidal silver in a cleaned out nasal spray bottle. some add a few drops of liquid DMSO to help penetrate the mucous. deb > > > YES, I do have a recommendation! Guest guest
That looks really good, my spouse has a lot of sinus issues. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks! I get mine on Iherb and keep some in the cabinet all the time for emergency illnesses. It also seems to chase off colds. You can also use the GSE nose sprays, which help infection...but not so much relive the swelling and green goop. best of luck, Anne

You can take something like mucinex to thin and drain mucous secretions, and if you think it could be allergy based something like zyrtec might help. It will take several days to clear it. I do this at least 3x a day when my sinuses bother me. This protocol has pretty much eliminated my sinus infections. > > > Judy > > >
Guest guest
Do you have a neti pot? It's used to irrigate the nasal/sinus passages with purified water and small amount salt. You can get both at most health food stores. It can be very effective and if used regularly helps prevent colds & sinus infections.
