Guest guest
Hi Doreen: It is too bad that the Enbrel isn't working for you. I know you have been feeling awful lately. What does your Rheumy have to say? Will you try another biological med.? I too wish you would hear from S.S. and get approved so you can get on with your life. I know it is a big worry for you, and you sure don't need that in your life. Why they are so slow I don't know. Sure creates so much stress for you. I hope you find a new drug that works for you. You sure deserve to feel better. Finding the right meds. for us is a slow uphill battle. Wishing you pain free days ahead. Also, I pray you get approved soon. At least that would lessen your stress level. Take care, rest, and remember, I care about you. Hugs, Barbara
Guest guest
Hi Barbara - when I went to see my Rheumy the beginning of last month, he said it could take up to 6 months to feel the benefits of Enbrel - but the Enbrel site says 2-4 weeks. I'm not scheduled to go back to my Rheumy until the beginning of August. I will call him beforehand, but I need to get my bloodwork done first - I'm overdue. I'm hoping to go on Monday, but everytime I've planned to go lately, I've felt too rotten to go anywhere. I need to quit putting it off and just do it - somehow, someway. Whether or not I try another biologic will depend on when SSD approves my case - IF it ever does. Its only been two weeks since the hearing, but it feels like two years - I've been waiting for sooo long. Thanks for the well wishes. I know the added stress of waiting for a determination is not helping matters any.....Doreen > > > Hi Doreen: It is too bad that the Enbrel isn't working for you. Guest guest
Hi Doreen: I know you are under such stress, but you keep going and try to get things done. I admire that in you. Stress is just so hard to deal with. No wonder your R.A. and Fibro are giving you such a hard time. I so hope the Enbrel starts to help you. You so need a break from all you have been dealing with. I do know when you are waiting for such important news, time drags on. I hope they let you know soon. I can't see why you don't get approval for SSDI. They are just so slow with their decisions, unfortunately. I am glad you are hanging in there. I hope you can get out and get your blood work done. That is so important for you to do. I need to get mine done in 2 weeks also. I have an attny. appt. this Mon. to fill out and sign some more papers. She will file them the next day. I will be glad when all is said and done. I am doing o.k. but deep inside me I am very sad. I am trying not to get depressed but I feel it some days. I hope this will pass. Hope you have a good day Doreen, and it is always so nice to chat with you. Praying for better days ahead for you, and to be pain free. Guest guest
Doreen, I'm sorry the Enbrel hasn't started helping you. I tried Enbrel, and it worked for a short time for me. I have been on Humira for awhile, and it seems to be helping me, along with the mtx. I know it may take awhile, but I would sure talk to the rheumy, and look to try Humira in the future. It might be the one for you. I'm sorry things are going so slow for you right now, and it doesn't help to have added pain. Just know your in my thoughts and prayers, and I am here through all this. Hugs, Tawny > > Hi Barbara - when I went to see my Rheumy the beginning of last month, he said it could take up to 6 months to feel the benefits of Enbrel - but the Enbrel site says 2-4 weeks. Guest guest
Thank you so much for your kind words, Barbara. Too bad we didn't live closer - we could go and get our bloodwork done together. I'm going to check with Enbrel when I call next week for a *maybe* refill and see what they think about how I should be feeling by now. It will be good when all that other paperwork is done and over for you. I know how hard this has been. Unfortunately, I've been through it twice before myself. It feels like a death sometimes and I think you have to allow yourself a little time to grieve. The Cinderella theory is a fallacy - which (I think) makes it even harder for women going through it, because as little girls we always believed that we'd marry our prince and live happily-ever-after. Some are fortunate and live the fairy tale - but in this day and age, there are more people who are incapable of honoring those vows as the lifetime promise they were meant to be. Hang in there sweet lady. Allow yourself the time to grieve, then pick yourself up, dust yourself off and go on from here knowing you are NOT the one who broke your vows. You are blessed to have such a loving family there with you so you are not alone. Get involved with others your age when you can - perhaps your prince is still out there somewhere. Its obvious this other one never transformed from a toad. Love & Hugs.....Doreen > > > Hi Doreen: > > I know you are under such stress, but you keep going and try to get > things done. Guest guest
Hi Doreen: Thank you so much for your kind sweet words. I know you know what I am going through. You are right. I guess I am grieving for my lost marriage and my husband. It is all just so sad. I thought I was his forever wife and he my forever husband. I am trying so hard to stay positive, but some days it is very hard to do. I joined the Senior Center here, but they don't do much. I need to get involved with something so I can meet some woman friends. I had what I thought was a great friend here for 5 years. She did something so unforgivable that I terminated our friendship. I wish my family was closer, but can't change that. I miss my 2 little babydolls so much. They are 3 and 2 now, and so cute. They are all coming to visit this fall. I was going to go home next month, but the flights are still too high. How far away are we from each other? I am 30 min. from Ft. Myers. As soon as my financial picture improves, I plan to travel some. I hope the Judge sees what has been done to me. I simply can't live without money. Time will tell. I wish the courts weren't so slow down here. Once again, thanks for your kind and caring words. You are a smart woman. I feel bad that you had the same thing done to you. I will be happy again in time. I know you are now. That is so wonderful for you. Take care of yourself, and talk soon. Wishing you many pain free days ahead, and your SSDI approval!!!!
