Guest guest
Hi all, Do any of you take Tramadol for pain? My primary care doc gave me a prescription for it but I haven't tried it yet. I get good pain relief for a day from two Aleve (naproxen) tablets, but he doesn't think it's safe to continue taking naproxen long-term. He referred me to a rheumatologist but I wasn't able to get an appointment for weeks yet. My RF blood test was 670! (normal <20). Guest guest
I use Tramadol also, but have found over the years that I have to also have Flexeril ( muscle relaxer - also known as Cyclobenzaprine ) for maximum effect. The two drugs together have battled nerve pain, pain from my broken back and put a good hard lick on my RA symptoms too. One w/o the other did me no good. My 2 cents-- in SC
Guest guest
I got an ulcer from taking two Aleve tablets at a time. This was before my RA was diagnosed, and the rheumy told me to continue it. I take Tramadol occasionally for pain, and it does help. Enbrel keeps my RA so well controlled that I don't need pain medication for it. I take the Tramadol for a slipped vertebra in my back. It's too bad that you have to wait so long to see a rheumatologist. I would suggest that you call and ask to be put on a cancellation list. That way, someone might have to cancel their appointment, and then you might be able to get in sooner. When I was in the same situation, I googled the doctor's name and actually found an email address for him. After I emailed him, he emailed me back that he was going to get me in to see him sooner. And he did! Good luck! Sue On Feb 2, 2011, at 10:21 AM, Jan wrote: > Hi all, > > Do any of you take Tramadol for pain? My primary care doc gave me a > prescription for it but I haven't tried it yet.
