I don't really know anything about Ultram. Because of taking Darvocet for so

many years, I never really looked into anything else similar.........guess it is

time to do some research. I will continue taking what I have of my Darvocet and

I even have a refill for 90 days left. I will try to get something else soon

tho.

Thanks for all the info

Subject: [ ] Darvocet

My pcp called and he's prescribing me Ultram in place of the darvocet.

They had not heard of the FDA recalling Darvocet yet but she nurse was

looking it up.

Hope others can get their drs to call another pain med for them too.

I have been taking ultram/tramadol now for a good 2 years and have not

had any issues with it. It is a good drug and does help the pain

depending. For me it takes the edge off at 50mg but if I'm in some

serious pain then I have to take 50mg and wait an hour and take 50mg

more which is what my dr told me to do if I'm going into a flare. He

wants me on what is called the lowest dose possible to get the right

effects from the drug. Tramadol/ultram is a non-narcotic pain

medication and can be combined only with acetominophen.

I hope that helps some of you who are making the switch from darvocet to

ultram. I'm sorry that the FDA and discontinued it. Not sure why they

have, will has my pharmacist buddy this week.
