Guest guest
Hey Dennis...my sweet father had to travel a similar road as you. I know it is trying and exhausting and sometimes frustrating. I pray you only feel stronger in all ways and that further testing indicates great healing. Be sweet to you! God bless you & yours with a wonderful holiday season. Cheryle, in Oregon [ ] Re: Through with Radiation! Goodness! You certainly had a day of it!! But, Praise God and Congratulations on your LAST radiation treatment!! I pray this is the end of it and when you go for further testing, everything continues to come back normal and cancer free. Now kick back and enjoy your Christmas with your beautiful wife. I'm so happy for you and I will continue to keep you in my prayers. Love & Hugs to you both..... Doreen I would have posted this yesterday, but by the time the day was over, I was done for. My first Doc was the RA in Longview and my appointment had been scheduled for 11AM for the last few weeks. I signed in and was then told that it wasn't until 1PM, the same time I was to be in Tyler for my last Radiation! After a few words, I walked out. Before I got out of my parking place, a nurse was standing there wanting me to go back in. She promised I would be seen in 'just a few minutes'. I finally relented and went back in. She was right, and I got through it in a relative hurry. The doc chewed on me for not doing what he said, but I countered with what I was able to do, not being in a perfect world. I did have 10 minutes to eat and get back on the road for Tyler and the Radiation. That part went smoothly with no delays, and I got to ring the bell announcing that I had finished! Then it was off to my PCP. I got there just in time and got in to see him right away. After a couple of minutes, he got up to leave, so I had to stop him. He was not happy and didn't address all my issues but did order labs and meds I need. The new lab tech couldn't get any blood after digging for a couple of minutes, so another girl had to take over. I gave the blood and urine and hit the road for home. I got about half way home when I realized I didn't get the scripts! A quick u-turn and headed back to the hospital just at closing time. They finally found the scripts and once again I was headed home. It was after dark when I got here and I was wrung out. Wednesday, I also had words with the Cancer doctor about having to see my Urologist for answers she should have given me about my prostate and bladder problems caused by the radiation. Before I could leave the center and go 2 blocks to his office, she had already called him, pleading her case. I guess I had her shook up because of her refusal to answer questions related to her job. I still haven't finished the survey, I have to justify not rating her more than 'Fair' in her job. Why can't things be simple for me? It's not my fault! Another thing, I haven't had any RA problems even though I have had no MTX for 3 months. The RA doc says it's because I'm taking all that Prednisone, 10mg per day. Another stupid comment, I think.
