Guest guest
Hi Kat, Yeah, I'm impatient, too! But it helps to read about other people with the same struggles. I don't know why dampness makes it worse. It just does and it's certainly doing a number on me today :-[. I can barely type because my fingers are so cold and stiff. > > *** Hi , unfortunately I believe you're quite right. I understand about why we get hayfever and allergies, and other symptoms, i just dont understand why we have this increased symptoms in response to the humidity/dampness etc. > > >>> I'm sure that as we progress on the diet, that this will decrease, just like our other symptoms do. > > ***Yes, I guess Im impatient, but Im comitted to this program and achieving wellness, thanks for your response. > > lov Kat >
Guest guest
> > Is there any remedy for those that feel awful in overcast/muggy/dreary weather? How is candida affected by weather--is it the mold in the air? Barometric pressure is different, right? I think my migraines link to barometric pressure, but I am wondering if today's oddly warm/overcast/dreary weather is affecting the candida and triggering a migraine (which I may have warded off, by the way!). > > We were at an amusement park over the weekend that we visit frequently, and I noticed I hit extreme exhaustion always at the same part in the park. Then I realized it is the part of the park that has the dank water rides and kid ponds, and the train that goes through a dark muggy cave (that the kids like). Is it my candida responding to the (mold?) in this case? Curious if it is related, because once we leave that section of the park I feel better (every time!). Or maybe it is just conincidence, who knows... +++Hi Amy. Most candida sufferers' symptoms increase in muggy damp weather and also from exposure to molds. All you can do is stick to the program, and ensure you do things that help your body detoxify on those days, i.e. Epsom salt baths, taking more niacin (B3), dry skin brushing (or another mild form of exercise), coffee enemas, etc. Bee

Bee do you know why the weather affects candida symptoms so much? +++Hi Kat. During damp muggy weather molds are sporing freely, so there's more in the air. Guest guest
Hi all My husband and I are trying to celebrate our 10th anniversary, but when it's 33% humidity in Las Vegas and running between 103-110 degrees it's hard to enjoy anything! Our joints are really hurting, and we have central air plus fans. When I visit my daughter in Seattle, I don't have the same pain, maybe because the temperature doesn't get real high. We've had a few drops of rain, but nothing to write home about. This is the worst summer I can remember in awhile. Plus our highest power bill ever. Just had to vent, hope evryone else is staying cool, and not in massive amounts of pain. I really believe the weather affects our joints. Well, I'm packing for an overnite stay at a hotel/casino and can use their power to stay cool. Have a good weekend everyone  Jeannie ________________________________

Guest guest
I had a friend visit yesterday who flew into Las Vegas and went on a motorcycle trip from there ending up here... He said it was miserable down that way.. I am sorry.. I hate hot weather myself.. Luckily Salt Lake has not had it too bad this year?? We had a very wet June and July has been tolerable.. We also have the advantage of the mountains.. My wife and I go up there during the early morning hours and it is generally around 50 degrees up there at that time.. Early mornings are the only time I can venture out because the day ways heavy on me later in the day.. Summer does not last much longer here, but I hope things become more tolerably soon for those who live in less hospitable climates. Tom In a message dated 7/24/2009 1:49:07 P.M. Guest guest
Hi all Will be going out in a few minutes to take advantage of the 90 degree weather before it turns into the 100's later on. I try to just go out once or twice a week, because of the pain and the weather. Our anniversary wasn't the celebration I wanted-my husbands' shoulder got twisted when he picked something up-don't know if he pinched a nerve, but that and the weather and the fact that he's about 80 pounds overweight and has a heel spur-well, guess we'll have to wait and do it up big next year. I worry more about his health than mine, at least at the end of the day when I start to wind down and my pain kicks in from just doing a couple errands, I can take my round of pills and get some relief. He's still working a full time job and trying to take care of me. I'm grateful I have him, but am full of remorse that he has to suffer more by helping me out. Then we through in all the other stresses like finances, and helping out my daughter get her life together, and nothing I see in the media says the economy is getting better. On that note, I guess I'd better get myself together and begin my long day. Thanks for the anniversary wishes-we've had our ups and downs, but we're in it for eternity. Take care and stay cool! Jeannie ________________________________

Guest guest
Hi all Well, the forecast is for another week of this terrible weather. I've lived here for a total of about 25 years and don't remember a summer like this. We had our first " brown-out " today for about 2 minutes, then got to run around and re-set all the clocks and TV's. My husband is really suffering, I wish he would try harder to lose weight, he knows he'd feel better if he did, but until he's ready to do it, he'll keep suffering. I am so afraid he'll get diabetes, or worse. When he comes in from work, I see the pain etched in his face, there's no smile that he's home, just misery from the pain. But he babies me, wants to take me to the hospital when I'm really suffering, tells me to sit down and he'll do the housework. I won't let him. I have the chance to rest and take more meds. when the pain gets to be too much-he works full time. I don't know where his pride in his appearance went, he was heavy when we married, but he's put on about 70 pounds in the 12 years since we met. He won't have gastric-bypass, and he doesn't have the willpower to count calories and do portion control. The VA put him in their program, he lost 30 pounds and then it came back when their program was done with. I've tried everything I can to be subtle in my hinting about weight loss, he'll start getting upset. I give up. I want the weather to change so he won't hurt so badly. My daughter who lives near Seattle is miserable, it's in the 90's there, and it seems that only the people who are fairly well-off financially have AC, everyone else uses fans, but this is very hot for them. When I was married to her father, we were stationed up there, and even on-base we only had fans. Is it cool anywhere in the U.S. this time of year? The mountains are about an hour away, but it seems half the city is up there seeking relief, so it's not worth the trouble traffic wise. Thanks for letting me rant and rave-I'm going to try to get some sleep, and dream about October when it's cooler here! Take care  Jeannie ________________________________
Guest guest
>Ouch. I've had those temps before too. It's hard to breathe in that: be careful! When Henry was young and his asthma was still bad, I used to make these face protectors that I buttoned into the hoods of his coats. Just take a piece of flannel from old PJ's and cut a rectangle wide enough to reach from one side of the hood to the other and long enough so it goes from just beneath the eyes to tucking in by his chest. Finish off the edges with a straight seam (Or pinking shears when I was in a hurry) and cut slits up near the top on each side. Find 2 spare buttons and sew them into the inside of the hood of the coat - make the buttons and holes large enough so a little kid's fingers can do the job without having to ask the teacher for help. Easier than a scarf and much harder to lose! My kid wore those in his coats until he was in his early teens and stopped only because his friends started making fun of him, but boy, he really missed it when he was in college taking night classes and had to wait outside almost an hour some nights for his train to come! Guest guest
Just want to wish my friends in Chicago all the best during this terrible storm. Please be well and be safe. I was there for the storm of 1967. It took my Mom and me over 6 hours to shovel from the back door to the garage. My Dad never made it home for 4 days.....the car had be snowed in. Thankfully, several of his customers within walking distance to the store took him in. At the time,, he was taking 2 prednisone tablets, 4 times a day. I only remember that when he did make it home that Sunday he was pretty crabby and had made the remark that he was going home that day if he had to walk! We lived over 10 miles from the store...didn't understand the meaning of those words, but I sure do now! Sometimes waiting for these storms are the worst part of the whole thing. I do remember telling my Mom during our shoveling session is that there must be someplace else to live without snow! What does a kid realize about the map! I think I will give Ron (my husband) and extra kiss for moving us down to so FL! Ii wish that I could send my cabana boys to help with the shoveling, but they have no winter outfits!! These snowstorms are very similiar to huricanes with the preparations and worries if the roofs will hold, etc. Alice, I will keep you in my prayers tonight. good luck and hope all turns out not too bad. Ron and I had thought that when he retired, we might move back north. Now I see why God placed us here and I think here we shall stay (atleast until the next hurricane !) Gentle, tender, wintery angel hugs............ Debs in FL [ ] Salivary Glands - Biopsy I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers and support. When I get an answer, I will post it.
