Guest guest
Gordon, I've been taking Ultram for years. I take one each morning and two at night. It really helps take the edge off of the pain. In addition, I understand that it helps with your ceretonan (sp) level. Sorry to hear about your condition being so bad. Guest guest
Is Tramadol the same as Ultram? I can't take Ultram - it made me manic and sleepy at the same time - on half a pill! I know lots of people get great results though! Guest guest
It didn't work for me. Made me very red in the face and stomach upset. It also didn't do anything for the pain. Guest guest
When I first took it back in 1996, I asked my doctor about it because it was causing me to have very pleasant dreams - I woke up smiling and kind of giddy. He laughed and said, well, it does have a euphoric effect (which seems a close relative to manic). Unfortunately, it isn't hitting me that way now, but it does help tremendously with the pain. kam > > > > Is Tramadol the same as Ultram? Guest guest
I don't know much other than it doesn't work for everyone. I tried it years ago, and got a lot of relief at the top dosage. Unfortunately, it also made me nauseous. -- P.S. For those who don't know, this is often referred to as Ultram. > > > > , > > I don't know what it is either, but it has saved my job and my sanity! > > kam > > >

Guest guest
, Before my CT/myelogram, I spoke with an odd nurse on the phone (think she was new) and she told me that Ultram/Tramadol is a derivative of morphine. No one ever mentioned this to me before - I had a TERRIBLE reaction to morphine after my last surgery. Anywho, if she was on target this could be why some people have nausea and get flush. LOTS of people react funny to morphine, or so I'm told. If I up my dose of tramadol, I get nauseas as well, but I usually eat something with it and do fine. Guest guest
Kam, I was told originally that Ultram was a non-addictive non-classed pain killer. I've never heard that it was a derivative of Morphine!

Guest guest
Hi, I googled Tramadol and saw from several sites that it is an opoid derivitive. Guest guest
Speaking of tramadol (Ultram), has anyone tried the new Ultram ER? It's a once a day in 200 mg or 300 mg doses. I can take 1 or 2 doses only of the 50 mg daily due to severe nausea, vomiting if I take 3 doses. I'm going to talk to my doctor about switching to this new one, but was wondering if anyone else had tried it yet? Take care, Sandy C. Guest guest
Hi There, I am on tramadol at the moment. I have 4 x 50mg a day along with 4x 10mg of Baclofen and 4x 400mg Ibruprofen. As advised by the doc and the hospital after having nine lumber punctures in one day causing me major muscle spasms and severe back, neck and shoulder pain. The Ibruprofen doubles the affect of the tramadol and at the moment it all seems to be working rather well. i still have problems early in the mornings and at night if i have had a hard day at work but in general, its good stuff. Hope this helps.
Guest guest
Any initial side affects? Like when I started neurontin it took a couple of weeks before the " passing out " right afterwards went away. I just need to be prepared since I have young ones I have to take care of. Thanks for the information! > > Hi There, I am on tramadol at the moment. I have 4 x 50mg a day along > with 4x 10mg of Baclofen and 4x 400mg Ibruprofen. Guest guest
Lynda, I actually take tramadol each night. I have had wonderful results. It has drastically helped me get much needed sleep. And that is hard considering i've been through 3 back surgeries. Tonja ljw75010 wrote: > > Has anyone used this drug? Guest guest
Hi Again, sorry, i forgot that bit. I didnt really have any side effects apart from feeling rather sick for a couple of days at first and i still go light headed and dizzy on a daily basis but i think that is the combination of drugs and the aftermath of the subacnoid bleed that i had. so i dont think that there is anything to really worry about, but obviously it affects different people in different ways. Just hang in there and give it a go. Ricky. > > > > Hi There, I am on tramadol at the moment. I have 4 x 50mg a day along > > with 4x 10mg of Baclofen and 4x 400mg Ibruprofen. Guest guest
-- hi tweetygodess yes I take Tramadol also and I am having the same problem as you, all they do is make me sleepy they don't particularly take the pain away the doctor has upped my dose since first giving them to me but that hasn't really helped with the pain I don't know if taking them for a prolonged period makes any difference or not I have been on them for a couple of months but nothing seems to be happening yet, I also don't like taking to many narcotics its the thought of becoming dependent on them .. but I am holding out some hope for the Tramadol to do something soon, I also got to hydro-therapy twice a week and that goes someway to helping the body and mind, as this illness doesn't just affect your physical state but the state of your mind, I hold out hope that the Tramadol starts to help soon for both of us, if you ever need to talk then don't hesitate to contact me kindest regards april stevenson ba
