Guest guest
Hi and fellow RA knitters, I'm a knitter too. Knitting is one of the things I miss since being diagnosed with RA. My RA at first caused trigger fingers then pain and swelling in the wrist. I stopped knitting the past year. I recently have begun to do a few minutes every day or so. I have always used bamboo needles or circular. I " ve heard other knitter with arthritis say that it sometimes helps to rotate small projects meaning doing one project on straight wooded needles and maybe another on circulars. That also helps you see which is more comfortable . I also use a wrist splint when knitting. I also now use a timer cause well you know how it is with knitting. Once you start time flies by and you either don't realize how time flew by or you keep saying just one more row lol........ _Re: Any knitters here? _ ( /message/128870;_ylc=X3oDMTJyY2Y3NWpvBF\ 9TAzk3MzU5NzE1BGdycElkAzEwMTQ3OARncnBzcElkAzE3 MDUwNjE2MTAEbXNnSWQDMTI4ODcwBHNlYwNkbXNnBHNsawN2bXNnBHN0aW1lAzEyNDI0NjkzMzc- ) Posted by: " keptoz " _keptoz@... _ (mailto:keptoz@...?Subject= Re:%20Any%20knitters%20here?) _keptoz _ (keptoz) Fri May 15, 2009 11:08 am (PDT) Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going to try out wooden needles - maybe the bamboo ones & I like the idea also of using circular needles. I'm really itching to get back into it. I know realistically I won't be able to do hours on end like I used to, but maybe in 10-15 min increments throughout the day. I always found it to be such a great stress reliever. **************Recession-proof vacation ideas.
