Guest guest
, The issue is not whether anything will be removed from the shelves, it is that the FDA will be given sweeping powers to remove items that they felt needed removal for any reason - including those items affecting the drug co's profits - which they openly try to protect. They can use just about anything, including bookkeeping errors to have something removed if they want. Right now, they don't exactly have that authority. Guest guest
Some people need larger amounts of nutrients than their bodies can extract from foods. The idea that the government is making our decisions for us is the main concern that I have. You may not need supplements but your neighbor might. The food supply is not natural for some people. Not everyone is on board with eating organic food because they can't afford to eat it. There is nothing pristine anymore. Cod Liver Oil, digestive enzymes, vitamin C, CoQ10... will all be subject to elimination. I want the ability to take and for alternative doctors to be able to prescribe supplements. With more and more chemicals added to foods, they don't provide the nutrition that they used to and they cause deletarious results. Big Pharma and Big AgriBiz are surely behind this bill. This is a foot in the door. The criminal FDA is already in the building. > > (or anyone else), > > Re: http://www.anh-usa.org/new_site/?p=2307 & cpage=1#comment-985 > > What supplements that are not a part of the food supply or part of the natural food supply and chemically altered do we really need? What supplements not on the shelf before 1994 do we need?

Guest guest
This bill repeals the section of DSHEA that protects those things (natural food supplements, foods that came out before this new law etc.). The FDA will have complete power. > > , > > The way I am understanding the link that you have provided, none of the supplements that you are mentioning would be affected, as all of these supplements and especially cod liver oil have been in the U.S. marketplace before 1994, thus they would not be eliminated from our store shelves. >
Guest guest
Jim, You're preaching to the choir! I think this post should be directed to la_Cayena. I'm totally against this bill. > > , > > > Right now, they don't exactly have that authority. > > Jim >
