Guest guest
Need some advice and this is the group I trust. My daughter has MS (diagnosed at 15 and she is now 25). She had been suffering from a sinus infection over a period of a few months and the doctors could not get it cleared up. Unfortunately they had her on all kinds of antibiotics, but nothing helped and as a last resort she ended up having to have sinus surgery 2 months ago. Well, no wonder the antibiotics did not phase her, the infection ended up being a fungal infection (I still don't understand why they could not tell it was a fungal infection before the surgery, but it is too late to worry about that at this point.) The doctor said that fungal infections are hard to get rid of the first time and some people end up having to have a second surgery. He said this infection was caused to her being allergic to something she breathed in from the air. However, to shorten the story, the allergist will not allergy test her because he is afraid it will cause her MS to flare up; even though her neurologist says there should be no problem. Anyone else had problems like this or had a flare due to allergy testing? We have heard not all allergist are good at treating fungi - any thoughts on this or what we need to be asking? Sorry for the long post - but the saga continues and we are looking for answers and help. She has been in a lot of pain in her whole body, feels extremely tired and sleepy most of the time and suffers with major migraines (she suffered from migraines long before the sinus problems also). She just isn't herself and she is tired of hurting, having no energy, and not feeling well. I know some of this may be due to her MS, but not everything is because of her MS. That is a whole different subject matter I am sure most of you can relate too! Also, when she bends her head down, at times clear liquid like water pours out the side of her nose! Not sure what this is, but can't be good. Her neurologist did a MRI to check out her MS due to how she was feeling plus it had been some time since her last MRI. The good news was her MS was fine and not acting up and he did not see anything he felt concerned about regarding the MS; HOWEVER, what really concerned him was the amount of infection that showed up on the MRI. He said he would forward the MRI to her ENT that did the surgery. Of course, her ENT is out of town until next week. Well, we don't want to wait on the doctors. They don't seem to be helping anyways (sorry if I sound upset!) Now that you know the background, what we are asking is, does anyone know a natural way of getting rid of fungus in the body or has anyone gone through this and have any suggestions. She would prefer not to take the antifungal drugs due to the side effects. I do have her taking something to replace the good flora that all the rounds of antibiotics have destroyed in her gut. Any suggestions please.
