Tawny, Hey gal! How are you holding up? Bone spurs, crappy! Is

that RA of the spine? Do you have it in the cervical part? I'm

extremely curious about RA of the spine!!!! I have spurs at C5-6 and

C6-7. I have never had a baseline x-ray as of yet. Tried to get one

today with no luck. I told the doc about how bad the verigo is and

that over the weekend I considered going to the hospital because it

was really difficult to breathe!!!! So, needless to say - I'm really

getting scared. Mainly because the doc will absolutely not do

anything within normal for me. He pushed on my neck and said that PT

was the best thing to get rid of the pain. If I'm not better in a

month then he might consider a MRI or CT scan. I'm hoping at least

PT can document the pain and decreased range of motion. It was weird

when he was pushing on my neck because I broke out in an immediate

sweat. You would think that any normal person would at least

consider an x-ray b-4 sending ya to move about. Sometimes, I wish

that my neck would just snap so they'd get it! I think that my neck

is unstable? The littlest things cause injury to my spine. Riding

in the car is an absolute ordeal. Every trip is like an episode of

survivor. I have other spinal stuff going on as well. I have facet

disease and my lower back has fused itself already. Are you

shrinking? I've lost 4 inches in 3 years. You would think that was

strange or a sign but they haven't seemed concerned. Probably my

head acting up again! I'm just glad your doc is checking things and

trying to do something for you! I pray for you and will continue to

pray for you throughout! Please keep us posted somehow. Hugs, Kim

Kim,

I don't think the bone spurs is connected with RA. The problem is a

disc in my lower back, that's causing all the pain. I do have some

arthritis in the lower back.

I also have neck pain, have had it for a long time. I take Flexeril

for it, and it helps quite a bit. I haven't really lost any inches.

Your in bad shape, Kim. You sure do need to get some answers. Have

you thought of finding a new doc? That is what I would do. You don't

a doctor that doesn't want to help you.

I will keep you in my prayers, you take care of yourself. Tawny

Hi Judi,

I'm glad you got some rain, and not too much. Could you send some

this way? It's really hot and miserable this way. I would like to be

somwhere where I could enjoy the summer without being cooped up in

the house. Maybe a tropical island, I can dream,:)

Oh, I'm sorry that you have to suffer like that because of the

weather. Hey, glad you had a good day with your grandson. I know

that made your day.

I will talk to the doctor on the next appointment. The funny thing

is, they are in another office on Monday, when they gave them out.

At least the company knows, so there will not be any problems, if I

need to order early.

The patch is relieving a little of the pain, but not much today. I'm

a little depressed today too, so just feeling lousy. Just one of

those days, but just dealing with it.

Well, you take care of yourself. I hope the weather is decent for

you, lower that pain. I will be praying for you, take care Tawny

Marina,

I have basically pushed myself through all this. I did get to rest

today, but not feeling very well physcially or mentally. I do have a

lot to deal with right now. My doc appointment is tomorrow, so I am

going to ask for something for my depression, or whatever is going on

with me. Thanks so much for always being here for me.

Hi Marina,

My appointment went well today. I did get Prozac, but will take awhile

before it starts to work. I let them know that Im having chest pains

quite a bit, they told me it could be anxiety.

The Plaquenil seems to be helping me a lot. My joints are doing much

better, and swelling is down in my hands. I do have swelling,

numbness, tingling, burning below my knee quite often. My rheumy seems

to think it could be from my disc problem. He told me when it gets

that way, I need to come in. I told them about frequent headaches,

low grade fever, and stomach problems. I had to go off the new NSAID,

just couldn't handle it. He didn't really comment on those problems.

By the time I got out, the lab was closed, so have to go back next

week for lab. Thanks so much, your such a good sis, always here for

me. Just know that your in my prayers too, Tawny

Judi,

I am sorry that your hurting. We have also had storms, with some

rain. I know you worry about your grandkids, when they are with

Dad. I just couldn't take the diclofenac, I got so sick. He didn't

put me on another one.

I hope things go alright with the daughter, its terrible when

children are abused by their parent(s).

I am so excited about being a grandma, it helps the stress. I went to

Walmart, and in the baby section I go. I am picking out things, I

look at , and tell her, gosh I act like I'm having the baby:)

I just feel grandma will be with the baby a lot. I am so ready to

spoil, Did I mention that twins and tripletts run on the Dad's side

of the family?:0

You take care of yourself, and will be praying for your aching to

calm, God Bless, Tawny

border. Anyhow, I was glad to hear about your neice is it? (step-

Hi Kim,

I haven't heard anything about the outbreak. I live close to OKC, so

not too close to the border. You stay in as much as you can, that is

bad news for sure.

I am feeling a little better today. Just have so much going on, its

hard on me right now. But, glad I got my prozac, but takes awhile to

kick in. You take care, T

Marina,

My cold is much better. My husband came home sick, so keeping my

fingers crossed, I don't get sick with it again. I am just not feeling

well, and very fatiqued right now. I did go today for lab work to see

how the enzymes are this time. I am glad your able to where masks,

that sure does help out a lot. Sometimes, I feel like wearing one.

Hi Tawny

Thankyou so very much for your kind welcome.

Yes I have had RA for 30 years. I did have about 4 years when it went into

remission for a while .I would be pleased to help anyone if I can.

How long is it since your DX.?

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Joyce,

I was dx about 3 years ago. The rheumy seems to think I have had it a

long time. I had a doctor that told me I had arthritis, but didn't

explain what kind. I was young, and didn't know anything. He would

give me all sorts of meds. You have had it a long time:( That is

really cool that you went into remission for four years, I have heard

of that. What type of meds were you on at the time? What are you

taking now? You will enjoy it here, so glad your with us.

I was only on antinflamitory tablets at the time.. I still just take Naproxen

and painkillers and I am on and off steroids. My choice cos I dont like to take

them for to long a time.

Did you see a rheumy when you were first told you had arthritis.? I didnt .It

was a few years before my doc sent me to see one.. I have tried all the new meds

that are out now for RA but I didnt get anywhere with them .I think I got my RA

to early ...lol All these meds were not avaiable when I first got it.

Yes it was great being in remission for so long. Then I had a hysterectomy and

it came back with a vengence after that...lol

Looking back in your life do you think you had it longer than you knew about.

Joyce,

Yes, now I see that I had it long ago. I struggled for years with

pain. I always blamed it on old injuries. I didn't go to a rheumy

until about three years ago. Like most, I didn't

understand, " arthritis. "

I am sorry that the remission didn't last, but glad you got four

years without the horrible pain. I can't take anti-inflammatory meds

at all, they make me so sick at my stomach. I have tried all of

them. I am taking Plaquenil/Methotrexate, Loratab, Flexeril. I take

Prozac for depression, and use Lidoderm patch for my back problems.

The Plaquenil/mtx combo seems to be working well for me now. You are

right, there are so many more meds now. I heard there is another new

one coming out, I hope that will be a good one. All we can do is

just take each day, and do the best we can. It's not an easy path,

but slowly we can get to where were going.

 Thank you Barbara....

Please tell Tawny that I'm thinking of her. I hate those flares...no one

knows, but us, how bad they feel. Every movement is torturous.

I hope she can get some help soon....

Is she going to the hospital? Is she getting any relief? She should go

I'm praying for her and sending good thoughts her way.

Give her my love and hugs.....

I am writing this post for Tawny as she is unable to do so at this time.

She is in a bad flare, hurting all over, her blood pressure is much too

high, and she is having chest pains.  She is in the most stressful sitauation,

and is unable to cope with it all.

>      She needs prayers and good thoughts from everyone here.  she is a

I pray she will.

I feel for Tawny, thank goodness she has you. She must be at an all time low,

where we've all been and it's such a lonely place. Just wish she would go to ER

and get some physical help with her pain, the emotional help will come when

she's ready. God Bless her.
