Hello Louise,

You mentioned that you are having more problems right now and think

that maybe your tube has come out. PLEASE DON'T WAIT! That is how I

got in this mess in the first place.

I had a tube fall out of my left ear and put off going back to see my

ENT. I had just started a new job and didn't want to miss an hour or

two of work for an appointment. (He would have inserted the tube in

his office.) I ended up missing a week of work recovering from the

surgery to remove the c-toma in March. Now I am about to miss

another week of work for a second surgery (scheduled for July 31st).

Catching the problem early and preventing it from developing seems to

be our best chance.

I know it's scary to go to the ENT. We are afraid of what will be

found. But, the sooner something is found, the easier it is to

treat! If it is found soon enough, maybe it won't have time to do too

much damage

Please take care!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to welcome the new women on the list. You will find this group

most informative and caring. I see all the great info they have given you so

far.

I started with small lifestyle changes; made them a habit and then added another

(ie. eating small meals and/or snacks every 4-5 hours instead of eating once a

day; stop drinking soda pop; exercise; etc.) They say it takes 30 days to

break a habit and that is about right. For me, making small changes has made

a huge difference for my weight loss. I have lost about 70pounds over the past

1 1/2yrs now; with much more still to go. My primary exercise is an aerobic

breathing program which has certainly made me healthier. I've recently joined

Curves For Women as well. I eat healthier and always drink water.

Take care and welcome!

70 pounds is fantastic. What is Curves for Women? I already have enough

curves... well, perhaps rolls would be more accurate. :) Several

locations have opened in my area but I don't know anything about Curves.

This is my third week of walking my daughter to and from school and I'm

getting quite a workout now since she's gotten so much faster on her bike.

The first week of school I was shuffling along behind her but now I walk as

fast as I can and she leaves me in the dust. I love having exercise built

into my life now. I might join a gym too because I used to enjoy weight

lifting. For now walking is plenty though. I'm also trying to get my bike

fixed up and get a kid trailer so I can take my 2 year old to mother's day

out by bike twice a week. My body is not going to know what to do with this

new healthy lifestyle. :) In Houston we live in our cars so walking and

biking for transportation is quite a change. I'm still hunting for a

reasonable kid bike trailer. Those things are ridiculously expensive.

Gotta stop chatting and start sleeping. I already feel this list boosting

my motivation. Woo hoo!

Sounds like a great idea to me. My name is Rosemary from Oklahoma and Marie and I are scheduled to have our surgeries at the same time.

Yeah, I saw all the okies! Sorry I hijacked this thread! That is great you got another fill and no throwing up! Here is the link to get messenger http://messenger./downloadsuccess.php?exe=1 if you have windowsXP you might need to hold the ctrl key down as you click on this link or you will see the thing blocking popups. It's free and you can use your sbcglobal email address as a username and the same password. I have AOL too, I am on there as Rainmomtx88. But I hardly ever use it. I like because it has the free launch cast radio, which I use a lot at work.

Last night I didn't chew a piece of meat well enough and I thought i was going to die. I didn't throw up, or PB, but I wanted to. I did everything I could not to because I knew it would not be good for the band, but in doing that i think my throat spasmed and I have a sore throat today. For the not yet banded, it feels like severe heartburn. I am on liquids and soft stuff today, giving my band a break. Other then that, I am doing good, still learning I gotta chew chew chew!!

Dear Jackie,

thanks for the welcome and kind comments.

To be honest I was suprised at the rapid weightloss.....so suprised

I weighed myself on different scales but it still came out the

same :-)

Its amazing what the lapband, liquid diet and a hint of willpower

will do eh lol

I still dont feel any restriction and have frequent hunger pangs but

I guess this will end when I start to eat solids.

regards,

Ken

Hi Rosemary, I go to a Doctor in Tulsa Dr Fisher also i've gone to a Dr Dodson in Ft Worth Tx he may be closer to you then Tulsa. The differance between the to is Dr Dodson uses the flour machine and you go to an imaging center where he does your fills. Dr Fisher see you at his office and does his fills there unless he can't hit the port then he takes you down to the imaging center in the same building. Dr Fisher it's like a regular Dr app where as Dr Dodson is like your one of many getting a fill. saw Dr Dodson's partner when Dr Dodson could not make it and she really liked him. Hope this helps Belinda"Laukka, Rosemary L." <Rosemary@...> wrote:

No there is options Dr Fisher in Tulsa charged me 200.00 a fill Dr Dodson in Ft Worth charges 250.00 fill but uses the flour machine. Either one would be ok I just liked Dr Fisher he took time out to sit down and talk to me and did your normal check up stuff where Dr Dodson if was just a fill and see ya. Also Dr Dodson you had to go to Arlington Tx which is on the south side of Ft Worth and it took us about 3 hours just to get back to the North side of Dallas because it will allway be in the afternoon when you get your fills and you know how rush hour can be DALLAS RUSH HOUR NIGHTMARE. Anyway there are option even though I want to go back to Mexico before my 1 year date just to see everyone. Talk to you later Belinda"Laukka, Rosemary L." <Rosemary@...> wrote:

Hey Belinda & Rosemary,

I kinda wish Dr. Dobson's office would take the time too. I did like Dr. who filled in for him, he did ask me how I was, and some other questions. But it would be nice to be able to sit down first and ask a ton of questions and know you aren't just chattle.

I would like to schedule a visit back to Mexico around my "bandiversary" too. Maybe we can get a bunch of us together huh?

I have a sister that lives in Tulsa so will be convenient for me to go there I think. This is so great to be able to chat with everyone ,ask questions and share your experiences. Looking forward to having the procedure overwith. I do hope we all can meet sometime andmaybe go to Mexico together. Rosemary

Beth - Thanks for the welcome!! I was just reading some posts and

noticed another one of yours. I'm curious if Hannah has pain with

her Arthritis. Grant, age 10, has had no pain with his. It seems

like everything that I read, all the kids have pain. Grant was just

diagnosed 4 months ago so I'm wondering if the pain is to come? You

wrote that Hannah has muscular legs and such, Grant is very athletic

as well so maybe there is a connection there (if Hannah doesn't have

pain with her arthritis).

Just wondering!

This is a wonderful, welcoming, knowledgeable group you have found.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi :

Actually Hannah has pain on a daily basis. Her level of pain, however, varies from day to day. She has had pain in every joint with the exception of her hips. For some reason they do not bother her. But she can have pain her neck; back; hands; elbows; wrists; knees; ankles and toes. Not every joint hurts every day that does vary some.

I don't remember your exact introduction, but how was you son diagnosed? Does he have swelling or was it through labs. Hannah rarely has visible swelling, yet her SED rate is almost always elevated. She's also had several other abnormal labs, yet they still won't diagnose her with JRA. And yes, she is athletic. She used to be a talented softball player, but had to give it up because of her knees. She is now involved in a wonderful performance group that focuses on vocals and dancing.

Ask any questions you have, someone here will be able to relate and help.

Beth & Hannah, 11, unspecified arthritis; asthma; gerd;migraines

Sending prayers & happy thoughts,

Beth :-)
