Hi Lou, So Sorry but my first thought was (it is probably her false eyelashes) OH I am soooo weird. SorryI can't imagine. If it were me I would see someone today.. black stringy things uuggghhh sounds gross. Does your eye hurt?I think I had every symptom know to man kind from prednisone. I could only tolerate 2 1/2 to 5 mg drop every two weeks.Could be your dropping to fast. I hope you are feeling better. Take care of you. Love and Prayers, PeggyFlorida, ipf 6/04Worry looks around.Sorry looks back,Faith looks up. I have not been feeling too good the last week, a little weak and it is because of the drop in my prednisone from 30mg to 20mg 2 wks ago. Spoke to pulmo day before yesterday, he wants me to stay on 20mg for 3 weeks and then call him again.NEW EXPERIENCE I AM HAVING:Well, day before yesterday, I was walking down the hall and all of a sudden my left eye was flooded with black "stringy things", and they were all over the place. Just the left eye. They stayed there for several hours, then disappeared. Then this morning a couple of hours ago, a solid black thick string is bugging the heck out of my left eye, just hanging there. Don't know what that is all about unless it is "bleeding in the brain". That wouldn't surprise me. haIf it continues,(everything always happens on weekends, you know that) I will see my PCP next week I guess.Any one of you ever have that happen since you have had PF?Love, Lou

Hi Lou,

I've not had black lines, but sometimes when I've over done it I get silver things flitting across. I take it you can't see anything in your eyeball when you look in a mirror. It might just be dead cells floating across your pupil and you've just had a lot more than normal, but I would be inclined to get it checked out even if it doesn't come back. Just to be sure theres nothing amiss.

I hope you start to feel better soon

Happy Easter

If it continues (and by that I mean if its going on right now) get to ER

and don't wait for a weekday. There is always an opthalmologist on call

in addition to others. I don't have any idea what it is but as these

things don't happen on doctor's schedules, you can't wait for doctor's

schedule.

Lou... if it were me, I'd head for the ER. We all know that is not a normal happening. Do go.

I'll be watching for a post telling us what this strange happening means.

Hi Lou, Happy Easter to you and yours! About your eye, wouldn't it be wise to call the ER and ask if it is something important enough to be seen before Monday? My PCP has someone on call 24/7. They are a father, son and nephew and are willing to take any questions, or see us, if need be. I feel so lucky that I found them. The Dr i had prior almost killed me. The first thing I did was call my ins. co. and asked if I could change my PCP and was told absolutely. It has been best decision since my diagnosis. He is so caring, he always reminds me, we are in this together. Maybe I'm just new and naive, but the secure feeling I get now has helped me with my IPF. I hope I haven't spoken out of turn, but I really care and wish everyone could feel the way I do. Some of the things I've read makes my Sicilian blood boil and I'd like to knock some compassion into the hearts of some Dr's.

That is, if they have one!!!!! Please let me know how everything turns out.
