Guest guest
Cheryl and group Cheryl you can have RA in your neck I do believe. You could have OA (osteo arthritis) in your back, I do. Your rheumy can treat yours cause my rheumy treats mine. gentle hugs Clora ******************************************************** > > Hi everyone > > I went to a rheumy once who dismissed some back pain I was having and > said you won't get RA pain in your back. Guest guest
I have started having pain there too. I have a slight " hump " on my upper back, mostly just tissue and a little dowagers, and I don't know if that aggravates it. I am in a HUGE flare with my SI joints and lower back, and last night my upper back/neck are started to burn and sting and today is very sore, even to the touch. It scares me that this arthritis seems to be spreading so bad to my back. I can no longer twist well - like to put my seat belt on. And hygiene is difficult, if you get my drift. I think I am going to try some of the injectables. I was wondering what injectables (Enbrel, etc.), any of you have tried that have been effective. Or Remicade??? I wonder which one is the most effective for psoriatic arthritis?? kristina adams <mac@...>
Guest guest
Patty!! Oh my gosh!!! I also tried Enbrel, just for 3 months and it ALSO cause me neurological problems! They told me that was really rare. They also did an MRI and no lesions at that time. We have repeated the MRI every year, I'm not sure why, but my rheumy and neurologist act like it is just a matter of time until the full blown MS is diagnosed - weird huh??? Were you diagnosed with MS or damage from the Enbrel? So weird, that you had this effect too. I am a little scared of the methotrexate because I tend to have elevated liver enzymes from a metabolic problem. And of course I am scared of prednisone... Gee, I don't know what to think. Do you have any lasting effects from the Enbrel? i have tons of questions for you... Kristy
Guest guest
Kristy, I am sorry you also had trouble with Enbrel. I had a repeat MRI this year due to some more neurological problems but it is unchanged from two years ago and no one here is concerned about MS at this time. I am not worried about it either at this time. I had all kinds of tingling, dizziness, numbness and weakness in October but we have determined that it was due to prednisone withdrawal. I know what you are saying about being concerned about both MTX and prednisone. At this point these are the only options I have to treat my PsA. I hope to get off the prednisone or at least take a very low dose if I have to stay on it. My liver seems to be OK at this time but I know long term use of MTX can cause problems. What can you do. I need to be able to function today so I try not to think too far into the future. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Hope you have a great day. God bless, Patty
