Guest guest
Dr. Nase,I've been reading your post regarding the moisturizing alcohols with greatinterest. Since I was diagnosed a couple of years ago, I have been usingcetaphil (liquid) cleanser and metrogel faithfully. My skin has improved agreat deal, but to be honest, I attribute that more to wearing a hat, changing my diet, discovering zinc oxide cream, and taking the rightsupplements than to the medication. However, I am afraid to stop usingthese things! Do you mean that using the products with the alcohols in themis keeping our blood vessels and skin from healing? I do notice a slightand temporary redness after I wash and apply the metrogel. Can you suggesta different cleanser, and do you recommend against using metrogel? (Inotice that it does not contain the alcohols you mentioned.) Also, I havethe nose problem as well, and was prescribed benzamycin to control it. Thisworks well for me, but I'd appreciate your opinion on the best way to dealwith it, and the safety of this prescription. I am anxiously awaiting yourbook as well-it is such a relief to have clear medical explanations for thethings that are happening to us, and to be provided with preventative andcurative measures instead of the standard " treat the symptoms " approach.Thank you!Kerry
