Guest guest
I have been a member for only a couple of months, but have learned so much from reading the posts. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge, and yes also sharing your aches and pains. It make me realize I am not alone, and have not had to endure some of the problems many of you all have managed to get through. The stories of long term remission encourage me so much! Recently (December 16) I fell in the shower and broke a several of ribs. Surprisingly the x-rays showed a couple of partially healed ribs, apparently broken a few months ago in a different fall (in October). I didn't realize I had broken any bones in the October fall but did feel pretty bunged up. The question is, does RA make you more susceptible to bone breakage, or does any of the medications? I'm taking MTX (8Xweek), Celebrex (1Xday), Prednisone (0.5 day) Plaquenil(2Xday) and will soon be taking Humera. I want to do all I can to improve my health in 2010, including no more broken bones. I will be working with a personal trainer as soon as the ribs heal enough; I had just started with her when I fell in December. The trainer has lupus, so she understands what I can and can't do. Best wishes and high hopes for 2010 Joan in Fair Oaks
