Guest guest
Hi a, The cellulitis game is so unpredictable. The very first time I had it was approximately 3 years ago and affected my ability to breath and had to go on to a vent. All the doctors in the hospital came in to see my case, as they had never seen anything like this. The skin is EXTREMELY hot, & swollen. What it feels like for me is that there is a baby in there. In fact this last night before I went to the hospital I told him I had a dream that I was pregnant and I couldn't deliver it!!!!!! With my breasts it looks as though I have a watermelon on my chest and it is soooooooo painful. With my most recent bout with the cellulite, my entire body is peeling very dry skin. The docs were concerned with possibility of breast cancer. They didn't have the heart to do a mammogram over the breast. I haven't yet to go have my mammogram. I still haven't gotten all my strength yet. My family takes the brunt of it and sometimes I feel they have just as much fun while I am far from them in my bedroom!!!! I am sure that I am just feeling sorry for my self. I am entitled for a little pity time, as long as it doesn't last too long!!!! Happy healthy Holidays to the people who deserve it the most. Unfortunately, we will also kee Lori close to our heart and keep her husband, Taras, even closer. Guest guest
Wow...that is something. I have an area on my foot that was small but didn't heal...when I wear a shoe....it seems to get infected again. Another trip to the podiatrist. They performed a culture and told me thank goodness its not rampid cellulitis....but bacteria. I never knew about cellulitis except on thighs. So, I was interested it what you have gone thru. Boy, you have really been thru the wringer with it. What causes it? I'm just glad that you're feeling pretty good now. Me, I am hibernating in the winter months. I just don't like the snow and cold at all. I am a FL girl inside. LOL Gosh to have to be on a vent and all that you dealt with. That's plenty scary. I'm sooo glad that you're fine now. I hope the mammogram shows good results....2010 has to be better than 2009...I would hope so. Yes...you have that pity party..I would definitely be doing the same thing. Hope your New Years Eve is a good one and 2010 gives you only the best of things. Thinking of you and sending big hugs.... a in Ohio The cellulitis game is so unpredictable. Guest guest
Dear Barbara..... I am soooooooo tired. I am here ready my e-mail and I am sitting up falling a sleep. The baby is sleeping and my other daughter is home with me right now. Ron and have gone to the hospital to pick up Vickie. They have released her! The baby is doing well in his " environment " and is gaining weight very slowly. So she is coming to my house until the baby is born, she is only 31 weeks along. My friend called me on Sunday night and wanted to know if I was sleeping, " No, even I can stay up past 8:00 pm). But then with the babyhere, I fprgpt how hard it is to take care of the little one!!! I saw my Infectious Disease doc and she is very upset & worried about me. She is so sure that I am going to suffer medically some time in the future. Well, summer has arrived here in FL...thunder showers, hot temperatures and cabana boys. Boy can't wait for Monday, beginning of summer.....swimming, tropical drinks and hurricanes. My daughter just got home, so I must go. I will try to keep in touch better. Gentle, tender, loving angel hugs..................... Guest guest
Hi Debs. I am so happy to hear from you today. I know you are beat!!!! Quite a change in your normal routine.  I am glad your daughter is doing better. It is good she will be there with you. My daughter could not wait for me to get there! I hope she can go farther in her pregnancy if possible. I was born when my mother was in her 6th month. I weighed in at 2lb. 4oz. and went down to 1lb. 6oz. Back in 1940 it was a miracle I made it. Premies really do florish, maybe a little slower then others, but they do gain well and catch up. I am glad mother and baby are doing well and stabilized now.  Now, about your Infect. Dr. visit. Are you getting another serious infection? I sure hope not. You have had it so hard in the past. I was so hoping each day you were getting stronger and stronger. I know this is a hard time for you, tending to your daughter etc. Hard to get any rest with all that going on each day, but I so pray you can get off your feet, even for a little while. I know when I took care of , I had to practically sit on her to go and rest. I did stop visits to the house, and made her eat. She just thought she could do it all, then fell apart. I did keep the baby with me nights, as it was easy for me to do. Plus, I had her all to myself!!! I waited a long time for her!!!  So, did the I.D.D. have any suggestions for you?  Have any idea what you need to do to stay as well as you can? As if you don't have enough on your mind!!! I know you are fragile health wise. I so hope the Dr. is worried for nothing. You have done so good so far and I hope it continues.  Are you enjoying our great weather? I am in the pool at lot each day and boy, it feels so good. I did get out of my last short flare and am back to feeling good again. I am still on 10mg. of Pred. daily, which really helps my feet and ankles. Have you had any times to hit the beach or pool yet? It feel so good to get in the water and just relax. My pool is alreaqdy at 84, perfect. I am ready to go in it now after I finish my letter to you.  Always know you are in my prayers, as well as your daughter and Noah. I think of you so much, and I am hoping you will stay well. I wish you many pain free days ahead. You are just so nice. Take care of yourself, and write when you can..............  Love and many hugs,  Barbara From: BadKneesDebs@... <BadKneesDebs@...> Subject: [ ] Hi Debs Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010, 7:10 PM Hi Barbara, I have not been posting for several weeks due to my daughter being in the hospital for over a week due to her pregnancy. Guest guest
Barbara, you are soi sweet and encouraging. It was a tough night at home first, with my son in law, but things quieted down. I don't know about him and how well Vickie is going to do staying in bed, but Mom is always there with extra beds, snacks, electronic games and my youngist daughter will take her to the doctors, we will somehow get through it. You know they say that my grandson is not gaining weight, yet my daughters baby bum is getting is bigger like a " normal " pregnancy! You are so right, when we were born " way back when " , if we had come in thiese weight, there would have been no hope for us. I look at my little Madyson and she is so healthy and happy that I just pray tp God and ask Him to do the same miracle on Noah! Thank you dear friend for your prayers, they are so appreciated. I will keep you informed as soon as Noah makes his appearance! Gentle, tender, angel hugs,,,,,,,,,,,,I love you. Guest guest
Just thought I would drop in and say hi. I hope things are going good, and that your daughter is resting. I love both of the kids names. Each day she stays pregnant, Noah will grow and be healthy. It is hard for her to rest I am sure. Thank God she and kids have you. Mommy will keep things going good for all. I am sure your granddaughter is keeping you busy. They have endless energy!!! I know when I go home June 8th, I will be dead on my feet, but feeling very joyfull to have them with me all day. 4 and 3 busy little girls!!! I want to give my daughter a rest!! She needs it so much!!!!  How far do you think I am from you? I was trying to figure that out. I have driven to Lauderdale from here and it was 3 hours. I did enjoy seeing the Florida scenery. Lots of sugar cane, and lots and lots of Bulls. Is your side of Florida tropical? Where I live it is like the Carribbean. Really beautiful. I love to swim in the Gulf. The water is always so nice and warm, and lots of waves. I go to Manasota Key beach and it is just gorgeous. Are you far from the ocean? Do you go there to swim?  I just love my pool and having it right out my door. I love the water and to swim.  How are you feeling? How is your RA? I know you must be so tired, but doing so much good for your family. They are very lucky to have you Deb.  I just came back from Mass. I am glad my parrish has A.C. I was so tearful while I was there. I have been doing good, but tonight I was destroyed. I hope my broken heart mends. It is just so hard for me Debs. I love my husband and miss him terribly. Nothing I can do about it either. Life can be tough sometimes......  I hope you have a nice weekend. Are you planning a cookout? We will just hang out and use the pool. We will have burgers for sure. I need to make potatoe salad, but need to buy mayo. I will go tomorrow.  Take care, and as always, in my thoughts and prayers for all of you. I so enjoy your friendship.    hugs and love,  Barbara From: BadKneesDebs@... <BadKneesDebs@...> Subject: [ ] Hi Debs Date: Sunday, May 23, 2010, 7:10 PM Hi Barbara, I have not been posting for several weeks due to my daughter being in the hospital for over a week due to her pregnancy.
