Guest guest
No your at the right place we see this a lot. Can you post his labs and treatment. One big killer of libido is low testosterone and higher levels of Estradiol does he have any problems like ED or taking a long time to reach an orgasm. Does he look like he went through puberty have more muscle then fat hair on this body needs to shave everyday. Here is a good link for you to read to get you informed. http://www.griffinmedical.com/male_hormone_modulation_therapy.html Here is a cut and paste on how I fixed this problem for myself. ======================================================= In the 25 yrs I have been on TRT I was dam low on my first blood test 120 total T I was 40 yrs. old and felt dam bad. I pushed my shelf to go to work and act normal around my family until I could not get out of bed. First 5 yrs of this I was told I am Depressed and was treated for this until we found out I am not depressed but have low testosterone so I was 45 when I went on TRT. Even with levels this low and dam bad fatigue I never had a problem with sex could do it everyday. It was when I went on TRT that I started getting probelms loss of libidol then ED then no orgasms. All of this was due to low levels of testosterone and higher levels if Estradiol long before I found out about my estradiol high levels. I was using a penis pump and cock ring to have sex still no orgasm. This went on from about age 50 to age 58. I was all ready doing supplements for libido like Maca and L-Arginine and L-Histidine. Here is what I find that works one needs there Testosterone up into the upper 1/3 of there labs range for a young man for both Total and Free T. And the big bad guy here is Estradiol we all need this down between 10 to 30 best at 20 if your SHBG is on the high side your Estradiol can be up as high as 40. Getting Estardiol down my ED was gone but no libido so to have sex I needed to work on it to get it up. As soon as we stop it would go down fast to dam fast. I started having sex again and could reach an orgasm. Here is one problem that happens once you have some ED you mind is allways on it and when you go to have sex it's in the back of your mind " will it stay up " and this kills it. So my Dr. gave me Cialis 20 mgs and told me to take it every 3 days not only to help with sex but for night time and morning wood, Believe it or not when you stop getting this your penis gets weak and this was why it went down so fast if we stop working on it. On the Cialis I could have sex and it would stay up my morning wood come back and the more I had it the better my penis got. Now today I can have sex with out Cialis and it stays up a good 3 mins if we are not touching it. I am 64 now. Now for Libido Maca helps and I still take L-A stopped the L-H yrs. ago. I know this because I stopped using it for a time and could tell the difference. When I started treating my thyroid and cortisol levels my libido came back it's not anything to brag about but it's there now and I have only been on treating my thyroid and low cortisol levels this yr. So as time gones on it's getting better. The best gauge you have is your morning and night time wood to tell if your E2 levels are best. I use Indolplex/DIM to keep my E2 " Estradiol " levels down don't take this unless your get your estradiol tested. http://www.ritecare.com/prodsheets/PHY-15336.html I take one table at dinner time don't do more the one thinking this will work faster you can go down so fast you will miss the morning wood. In 2 weeks you sould get some strong wood this means your E2 is at a good level. Keep taking the DIM but if your night time and morning wood stops your going to low. I use wood go gage my E2 levels and it works dam good. So if your wood stop and you can't get it up fast stop the DIM until it comes back. That day go back on it but cut the DIM table in half. dorapsychologist <dorapsychologist@...> wrote: I just joined this group, but I know it's not the exact right group. I happened to be a woman. Guest guest
Hi. Thank you for writing back. I don't have copies of his labs and treatment. His doctor just called him last night. My husband has low sex drive, he avoids having sex and makes excuses. I've always felt that something was wrong. I think he's had this condition for at least 10 years. Does this sound right to you? Is it possible to have this condition for many years and not be diagnosed? He does not have a problem with erection or reaching orgasm. He does not have more muscle than fat, he does not need to shave every day. Our general doctor has referred him to see an endocronologist. I hope that he can get the treatment he needs. I hope I can have a normal sex life one day. --- philip georgian <pmgamer18@...> wrote: > No your at the right place we see this a lot. Can you post his > labs and treatment. Guest guest
My T was low, my estrogen was high in comparison. As I recall, I was frustrated, perhaps a little angry at the world, caused by the excess estrogen, or lack of T. I think I had a mind set, oh poor me, and I was looking at someone else as the problem, certainly not myself, as I was perfect. After reading this board for several weeks, I began to understand the importance of having the correct T, beyond just the act or orgasm. And at some point I began to think of it as a challenge to reach a point of having a thirty to one ratio, vs one to one. yucks Something I overlooked was that having low T, high E. I was subjecting myself to diabeties, osteo, overweight, and the list goes on. kind regards david Hi everyone >I just joined this group, but I know it's not the exact right group. Guest guest
Yes this can go on for yrs. men don't talk about this problem. Yet at some sites you can't stop them from talking once they see a problem others have. I hate to say this but seeing an Endo is for most a waste of time and money they are not good Dr.'s for this. I have seen men's labs very low in the bottom end of the normal range and Endo's tell them they are OK you must be depressed. They don't care about how one feels they are labs nuts. You would do better if his Dr. is not up on this to work with Dr. over the phone to treat him. Dr. here in MI. is one of the best male hormone Dr.'s at his site he has the labs and treatment he dose free for you and your Dr. He will work with your Dr. If you can't drive or fly to see him. All you need to do is see him once and he does the rest by Email he treats men all over the world. The biggest problems we have is finding a good Dr. this is up on this. Go to this site and read TRT: A Recipe for Success and his HCG update. In this are the labs he needs done. It is best to find out why he is low before treating this. If he goes on Testosterone meds without knowing why he is low then it is very hard to figure out way. Men can have bad testis that don't make enough testosterone or have a tumor on there Pituitary this means the testis don't get the message to work. A fatty liver or low grade infection can do this even high levels of Estradiol. A man's brain can't tell the difference between high Estradiol and Testosterone so when estradiol is to high the brain thinks it's Testosterone and stops sending the LH message to the testis to make testosterone. So in this case just getting estradiol down his testosterone levels will come back up. Yes I feel you can have a normal sex life maybe to much when he gets his levels back up. If your Dr. is not willing to work with Dr. then go to the files section here at the home page on the left side of the screen. Read find a new male hormone Dr. some men here do see an Endo and it rare one finds one that is up on this and any good so read this in the files section and call and ask questions. Some men with low T have high CHOL. because you need CHOL. to make hormones so when your low the body makes more. Getting his levels up this can come down. Dora <dorapsychologist@...> wrote: Hi. Guest guest
If Endos and Uros are a waste of time to go to, I was wondering if anyone knew a good doctor to go to in New York City. That's where my husband and I live. From what I have heard, insurance doesn't cover this... is this true? Guest guest
*Hi Dora, Generally doctors that practice anti-aging, age management, and bio identical hormone restoration, etc, don't accept insurance. They usually do give you a receipt that is coded so your insurance company will partially reimburse you as a " out of network provider " . In my experience the insurance company will give you about 50% back on what you paid the doctor, so that's better than nothing. Insurance companies in the US are taking aggressive action against physicians who veer from accepted medical practice, and since these doctors prescribe hormones for patients that are low, but still in " normal " range (remember, normal is not optimal and the normal ranges are too broad to be healthy), and use hormones that are often compounded or different than normal doctors use, the claims will not be fully paid. Now if your doctor prescribed Prozac, Premarin or Prempro (freeze dried horse urine), or synthetic thyroid drugs, the claims would be paid 100% with no questioned asked. Pretty daffy if you ask me... Guest guest
Hi Neil. Thanks for writing back. This just sounds very sad. I feel very sad. I just can't see my husband going for treatment if it;s not covered fully by insurance. We have two young children and too many expenses. He would rather not spend the money, then for us to have a normal sex life. I will give the doctors in NY anyway and see what can be done. Thanks again. Guest guest
Hi Dora, I should say though not all hormone prescribing doctors are expensive. I know two D.O. type of doctors, one charges $60 for a return visit, the other $90. Both are $250 for the first visit, the first visit is extended. If you have an HMO, perhaps you could pressure them to run some thyroid and testosterone tests first. If not, the following web site can run a basic men's testosterone and estrogen panel for $212. http://www.directlabs.com/testtypes.php#BHPM When you are on a limited budget it may sound like a luxury to get your husband's sex life " clicking " again, but actually getting his hormones (and yours) to optimal levels (not the HMO levels that are merely " in range " ) can help him avoid heart and prostate disease, stroke, etc. That way he can be there for you and the children. Lack of sex is a symptom of something major going on. I had a heart attack at the age of 46 and have three stents. My HMO swore to me my testosterone and thyroid were " fine " because they were within range. Finally since my sex life was about zero I sought out an outside doctor....his findings???....my testosterone was lower than a 90-100 year old man and I was very low thyroid! What they do on these overly broad ranges is sample something like 5,000 people of all ages and health. Since a random sample of 5,000 people includes many old and somewhat sick people, their lab values become part of the " normal " average. The same hold true for thyroid and your own female hormones. Our HMO told my wife, who was also starting to have low energy problems, feeling cold, tired, insomnia, couldn't get up in the morning, etc, that her hormones were a " bit low " , but there was nothing they could do about it. Additionally they told her it was their policy to only do replacement female hormones over the age of 52, and that they only used Premarin (the horse urine product). She went outside the HMO and went to another doctor. This doctor told her that, even though she was only 45, she was essentially menopausal and had almost zero estrogen and progesterone. This despite she was still having monthly cycles. He told her after the age of 35 female hormones drop sharply. She is now on bio identical estrogen and micronized progesterone capsules and Armour thyroid and feeling fantastic! She now has no difficulty getting up early again for work (5am), her hair is much thicker again like it used to be, her skin is better, and her sexual response once again is :-))). When you feel well you can feel sexy again. Since we both are feeling better we both find we are more affectionate toward each other as well. Again, when you feel better it is much easier this way...not grumpy like we both used to be. Please read through some of these files this anti-aging doctor offers on his web site, you will see keeping both of your hormones pumped up to youthful levels will help keep both of you around for a long marriage and for your children (and grandchildren in the future). http://www.hormonerestoration.com/Evidence.html And honestly what my wife and I do is order Armour thyroid and many of the other " supplies " on the internet. Things like the bio identical estrogen, progesterone, syringes, vardenafil, vitamins, etc, are all available on the internet. The only thing I get for hormones via a normal prescription right now is my testosterone, and I get that at Costco. My co-pay was $40 for a vial for Pfizer brand. So far it has lasted two months, and I still have half of the vial left...so the testosterone only runs about $10 a month! I can live with that to stay alive and feel well. I give my self a shot with a tiny needle on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It takes 5 minutes. Hope this helps Dora, please keep in touch with the group. Neil > Hi Neil. Thanks for writing back. Guest guest
My Dear Sue: What a lovely surprise to see you posting again. told me to write to you; however, I did not want to bother you. I have been so sick with the worst gastro attack this week, it is probably the H-Pylori flaring again. All I do is sleep, and that is what happens when these flares hit. We have been under so much stress, and that is a killer. Honey, how are you doing? We were really worried about you, and we hope that you have some answers regarding the heart palpitations. Stay close dear one...love you....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~``` Hi everyone Just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. Guest guest
Lea helloooooo, Its lovely to hear from you again. Sorry you have not been well, hope you are feeling better. You can always write to me, you could never bother me..not sure if I would have got the message though, my emails have been so up the wall. Things are pretty much the same this end, still dizzy, tired ect but I am going to try the lightning process after christmas but its very expensive so it will have to wait. I do still get the palpatations but I have worked out why....I think, its got to do with if I eat something I shouldnt and my hormones. Say Hello to for me. Big Hugs Sue. Guest guest
Hi Patty, My boys are great thank you. I am pretty much the same, but I am going to try something called THE LIGHTNING PROCESS after Christmas its around £600.00 so will have to wait! Its to do with M.E and getting better from it, I am pretty sure this is a major problem for me, so I am hoping this will help. I have missed the group as my emails have not been coming in properly, those that did I couldnt reply to...so I was in limbo, still its all sorted out now. Guest guest
Sweet Sue: Thank you for your support. We are sorry that you are still having health problems. I think that the antibiotics are starting to work because, I think that I am feeling a bit better this morning. This has been the worst GI attack ever. It started last weekend with pain under my left rib, and I ignored it. I have been in bed most all of this week, and I fall asleep all of the time. That was what happened when I had pneumonia. We see our Dr. Brown tomorrow, and he will make sure that everything is okay. Honey, are you still moving, and if so where will you move to? My is working on his Ph.D and will be coming to England to do research. I wish that we could move there, because the weather is so much better than here. It is snowing here today, and we are not happy. Take care of our precious Sue...love to you...Lea and ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` Hi everyone Just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. Guest guest
Hi Sue, I'm glad to hear your boys are doing well. You'll have to tell us more about this Lightning Process...I have not heard of it. M.E. is what we call Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, correct? Are you having reactions to things around you all the time? Are you still feeling dizzy? I am praying that this works for you. Are you still seeing the same doctor as before, or did you find another one to help you? Is any of this covered by insurance? It's sure been a long road for you Sue. It's good to see you posting, and I'm glad you got the email sorted out. Keep us posted. Are you doing anything special at the moment to feel better or detox? God bless, Patty > > > > > > Just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. > > > I have a new provider on my computer so I hope this reaches everyone. > > > Thinking of you ALL. > > > Love Sue > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Dearest Lea, I am sorry to hear that you've been feeling so poorly and have been in bed so much. I hope the antibiotics are doing what they need to do...just don't forget to add in the probiotics as well, so your gut will have the healthy stuff in there too! Lea, when goes to England, who helps take care of you? How long will he be gone, or will you go with him? I'm sorry the snow is not bringing cheer to you. Winter is settling in soon...Take care of yourself, Lea, Love, Patty > > My Dear Sue: > > What a lovely surprise to see you posting again. told me to write to you; however, I did not want to bother you. Guest guest
Thank you for your kind words, Patty: Women who have been poisoned by silicone are so fragile. That is why we should avoid stress at any cost. and I are trying to sell our big home, which is extremely stressful. When things go wrong in our safe place, it causes us to become broken, and some women just give up. There are so many women who have no support from their families. This is why we must make sure that this group gives them unconditional love and support. When my goes to England, my sister will stay with me. She is sick from a silicone shunt; however, she is not as sick as me. I take probiotics before every meal, and it has helped me even when I am not on antibiotics. Sending love and hope for our future....Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi everyone> > > > Just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone.> I have a new provider on my computer so I hope this reacheseveryone.> Thinking of you ALL.> Love Sue>
Guest guest
ita, There are several new and old medications that can help with the pain and swelling of RA. The worst area for me is my hands. I take Humera and Methotrexate ( which I may stop again due to side effects ) I have learned to just spread out activities where I have a lot of hand work. I also use a hot wax treatments to my hands. They feel great. You can go to any nail salon and ask for a hot wax treatment but I got a machine at Walmart for about 50.00. It is well worth it. Just like everything else, you have to take it 1 day at a time. Hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
ita, RA can be extremely scary at first. There are alot of good medications to help w/ the pain, swelling and joint damage that can happen. Talk to your rheumatologist, between you and him/her can figure out the best treatment plan and medications to work for you. Sometimes, it's trial and error until you find the meds and doses that work for you. I was diagnosed when I was 24 w/ RA and fibro 3 years later; you learn to live with the disease. Having a strong support system is key, this group is awesome and extremely knowledageable. Everyone here knows what you are going through. It's going to be OK. You will learn to pace yourself. You will have good days and bad days; on those good days take advantage of it. You will have to pace yourself, take naps if you neet it, etc. What helps me is seeing a therapist. It has done wonders for me to help me cope with what I can and cannot do. One thing that she told me and I have shared this amany of times is that pain is a feeling; it doesn't define who you are. You are still you. Feel free to post questions, venting, whatever...all of us are here for eachother. Welcome!! > > I'm new here...and very frightened. Don't know whats ahead for me. I'm 45 mother of 4 (27,23,10 & 6 yrs old) I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue about 4 years ago....although I've had symptoms for about almost 20 yrs nows. I recently sprained my left ring finger (3 months ago) and it has not healed. After several visits to my doctor & chiropractor. All fingers on my left hand now look bruised and swollen and I am not able to make a fist.....it's painful and I feel tightness when trying. I was just diagnosed with RA and waiting to see a specialist. I read up some on RA and have many symptoms. I don't know how to cope with all of this...I feel like a freak when in public and can't use my left hand correctly. How does everyone hear deal with it ? Am I going to heal from my hand? Please help with advise. > > ita >
