Guest guest
Hi Christa.  Nice to hear from you but so sorry you are not feeling so good. That is why I don't go north to Massachusetts for that very reason. Every time I have gone home, I end up sick, have to stay in bed, etc. It just stinks and I so know what you are trying to deal with. Life with RA is a challenge for us all.  I hope you will feel better soon, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy!!  Hugs,  Barbara From: Christa Dondero <loveyouhun@...> Subject: [ ] Hi Everyoine " RA " < > Date: Saturday, December 4, 2010, 1:00 AM  Hi everyone, I know I haven't post in a while. I'm visiting my family back East. My goodness it's cold here and I'm freezing. Thank God my arthritis is tolerating it. I'm thinking of heading back home early and not stay for Christmas. 1)too cold 2) I'm afraid I will get sick and my immune system is suppress because of the Methotreaxte I take. My ankle is really bothering me and I can't get around anywhere due to no car and don't know my way around. . I hope you have a Happy Holiday and pain-free!!!!! Hugs Christa
Guest guest
Hi Everyone It looks like everyone is having the same problem. I did not get the flu shot . I wasnt sure about the complications. Clearly I think I I should have. I had a cold and flu for a week. Called my regular doc and he checked me out said it was bacterial and put me on 7 days of amoxicillin. Waited a week after that. I was feeling a little better. All of sudden I crashed again same symptoms. Now I am on day 5 of the zpac. This has been a month of the flu. Anyone have any suggestions. I take vitamins. I see all my Drs regularly and I am on a pretty good cocktail as far as my RA goes. Just venting I guess. Just tired of coughing and feeling rotten. Guest guest
Carol, I have seen some studies to suggest increasing Vitamin D to help with combating issues that pertain to the lungs. Maybe has something on this. Good luck! Hope you feel better. > > Hi Everyone > > It looks like everyone is having the same problem. I did not get the flu shot .. Guest guest
Hi Carol.  I was sorry to read how sick you have been. I have not taken a flu shot in over 25 years, due to a bad allergic reaction to the last one I took. I have never gotten the flu in all this time, but right now I am sick in bed with Bronchitis and Asthma. Went to my PCP so on anti-biotics to take for 7 days and then go on a Z-Pack. I am also taking 40 mgs of Pred. for 4 days, then 30 mgs. for 4 days etc until I return to my normal dose of 10 mg a day. I am back on Advair and also using my nebulizer many times a day. I am glad I have not gotten the flu, but this is another bout of Asthma and Bronchitis. Of course I stopped my MTX and I did not want to. I caught this before it went into Pneumonia. I have had Pneumonia so many times I have truly lost count. Our immune systems are shot due to RA. These things come out of nowwhere and I see my Dr. the minute I feel something coming on.  I pray you will feel better soon. It stinks to be sick like this. I am in bed for a few days and hoping I will feel better soon. I know just how you feel about getting so sick so easy. Try to rest and take good care of yourself. I do get the Pneumonia shot when it is due. Imagine if I didn't take it!!!!!  I am coughing hard and it will not stop until my Asthma is under control. I know you are suffering with all that coughing. It hurts so much and is so wearing. I will be thinking about you and hope you are on the road to a complete recovery soon.  Hugs,  Barbara From: IM4BUCS2000@... <IM4BUCS2000@...> Subject: Re: [ ] Hi Everyoine Date: Sunday, December 5, 2010, 11:24 AM  Hi Everyone It looks like everyone is having the same problem.
