Guest guest
I have chronic sinus infections. Every week, I decide if I should take my MTX or not. This week, I woke up on Thursday and decided I needed to bite the bullet, pay my $40 copay and see my doctor. So she started me on an antibiotic again. She wants me to use Flonase as a preventive. I will skip my MTX next Monday. I should be good in time for my next Remicade on Jan 6th. She wrote on the antibiotic prescription that I should resume MTX December 29th. So when I went to pick up my prescription, they said the pharmacist needed to talk to me. So he looked at the note and said " well, the antibiotic might upset your stomach and the Mtx might make it worse, so you shouldn't take them together. " I was anxious to resume my mall-walking and in about ten minutes I said " that's not the reason I'm supposed to stop the Mtx when taking antibiotics!
