Hi Renae:

I could not take the 24 hr. of nausea each and every day with the MTX

pills.  Between the nausea and the RA pain I was miserable.  My Rheumy taught

me to self inject the MTX and I was scared to do it, but do it I did.  I have

been injecting myself for over 5 years now. No more of that awful nausea.  I

inject each Thurs. night, alternating each thigh.  You don't even feel the

needle as it is so fine, and it never bleeds.  For me it has been a Godsend.

Some times when I inject I might feel a slight nausea, but it is gone before I

go to bed.  You can ask your Rheumy about it.  I tried the MTX pills for 6

weeks and then I was done.

Between pain and nausea it is just horrible, and then trying to work

feeling like that, yikes!  Not good at all.

I hope you find the right " cocktail " of meds. that work well for you and

you get out of your pain and suffering.  Wishing you many pain free days ahead.

    Have a nice Thanksgiving.

Hugs,

Barbara

Hi Renae,

It has been about 1year for me and I have felt the same way you do.  I am

working too and it can be so hard.  I get a lot of hope from people in this

group who are in remission and feeling better again.  I am praying that you and

I both get the right combination that helps us.

Hang in there, Connie

Hi Renae!

I did a year of Humira weekly for about a year and then I noticed I was getting

less and less of effect from each shot so I made the decision to switch meds and

started Simponi yesterday. It is one of the newer meds on the market and is

injected once a month. I am hoping for good results!

I forgot to add that in the past I have also done: Plaquenil, MTX, and Arava

with some success but the side effects were unbearable.
