Guest guest
Hi beth..yes, I had it a few years back....my rheumy dropped the plaquinel and started me on arava. But the arava made my hair fall out so now I'm just on enbrel and prednisone. I had little pin point red dots from my ankles to my neck. Plaquinel is known for that reaction. I used to take it for years...then went on something else...got back on plaquinel and had to drop it since my body just didn't tolerate it anymore. The rash was itchy also....took benadryl and zyrtec. My dr also gave me a steroid shot. Hope this helps...a Ohio ************** We found the real ‘Hotel California’ and the ‘Seinfeld’ diner. Guest guest
Hello Everyone, has anyone ever heard of Plaquenil causing a skin rash (erythema multiforme)? It felt like a full-body sunburn, very itchy, then peeling. The medical dermatologist and the rheumatologist both said they had not heard of Plaquenil causing this type of reaction but were going to research it. Thank you. - Beth
Guest guest
a, thank you. I have tried antihistamines, including Xyzal, a prescription form of Zyrtec, and they don't seem to help much. I cannot stand the groggy feeling they give me during the day. How long did you take the plaquenil before getting the rash? For me, it was just two and a half weeks. I'm seeing a new doctor in June and hope that he can really help me solve the skin/RA (if it's RA?) connection.
