Guest guest Posted January 16, 2009 Report Share Posted January 16, 2009 It was my understanding that RA effects about two third women to a third of men, and your numbers are even higher. When I asked my Rheumatologist about it her reply was that they don't even know exactly why people get RA other than it's genetic, aside from gender issues. But it is a fact that more woman suffer RA than men. I have given considerable thought to all the people I never saw before I was diagnosed with a incurable disease myself, and I am kind of grateful that it is manageable and treat-able. And I often find myself thinking there are a lot of things worse than RA.
