Guest guest
Welcome Carissa. I was diagnosed when I was around 24 and I'm now 50. I had many rough years, but managed to raise 2 kids in spite of my problems. The RA is manageable now with the new meds that are available. Sorry about your diagnosis. Try to keep up your spirits. We have many members that live full lives in spite of RA. a On Wed, 02 Feb 2005 02:39:14 -0000, cneupie <carissaneupert@...> wrote: > > > Hello - > > I have been recently diagnosed with RA. Guest guest
Thank you for your message. I feel really isolated because I don't know anyone else with the disease. The only people I've met are from the rheumatologist's office. Many of them look really ill. It's not encouraging. Thanks for the prayers, too. Guest guest
Hi! Sounds to me like your doctor is aware of the most current info. about RA and wants to keep your joints free of damage. Aggressive, early treatment is the best approach to this disease. I tried many alternative remedies before meds, but have gotten very good results from methotrexate, which I've been on for about a year. Close monitoring on these meds is the key to preventing the scary side effects. I still watch my diet carefully (I have sensitivities to wheat, dairy, and yeast), get acupunture, massage, swim, do yoga and Qigong, etc. but the meds have been the most helpful thing. Yes, reading about the side effects can be scary, but trust me, the unchecked progression of the disease is far more frightening. I have a parent who refuses to get any medical care for her RA, so I speak from direct experience. Sierra > Hi everyone, > My doctor just confirmed on Friday that I have RA. Guest guest
Hi, and welcome aboard. I know that we have had some people in here using LDN for RA. They have written in about less pain and a better feeling in general. Do you have much pain? LDN is often able to reduce pain in the joints. This is due to the increased level of endorphines which is produced when taking LDN. If you want to try LDN you have to know that taking LDN is for life. As long as there is no cure for our auto immune diseases LDN is the best alternative. In my opinion. If you decide to start using LDN, please tell us how you are doing. Remember that many have to take this medicine for months before they can tell a different. All my best, Ingrid [low dose naltrexone] Newly diagnosed with RAHi to everyone at this site. I am new here and recently diagnosed with RA. I have been doing tons of research on all of my options for treatment. Which is why I am here. I am not sure of the stage of my disease, I have been having the symptoms for about 3 months. My R factor was high at 221, my Anti ccp is 46, and the rest of my labs were completely normal. the Rheumy wants me to start a DMARD. Those drugs scare me to death. A friend told me about LDN and I am wondering how it is working for those of you with RA??? Does it actually treat the disease- ie.. stop the destruction and possible deformity... or does it just relieve the symptoms? I live in SW Ohio, is anyone from this area that might help me to find a Dr. that might be familiar with and knowledgable about LDN and prescribe LDN? Any help would be greatly appreciated I am truely at odds about what treatment to try. Thanks,Rhianna ------------------------------------

Guest guest
I`m certainly not an expert in any of the diseases but I think we have to assume that to maintain the benefits that LDN brings, you have to keep on taking it. It`s not a cure but I think once people start to feel better, they may assume that it is! My husband will take LDN forever or until such times as a cure is found. If nothing else, it`s stopped him getting a cold for nearly four years! I cant see the problem with assuming you`ll take it forever - its affordable and for those taking it in pill form, as easy as it can be. - In low dose naltrexone , " cathy.camara " <cathy.camara@...> wrote: > > - I seemed to have read that LDN plays a limited role in LYME > disease and people with crohns disease don't have to stay on LDN for > life. Guest guest
, I remember hearing the same thing and it may have been reported by one of the researchers. It was stated that Crohn's and autisum can see improvement after a course of time and that the improvements would not be reversed by stopping the LDN. I also remember however that a child with Crohn's had stopped a number of months back and the ailment had returned. So I personally would just not take the chance by getting off. Unless there is a problem obtaining LDN or there is an adverse reaction of some sort, why not continue anyways? Guest guest
well, the supply here in south east asia is limited, as very rare people uses LDN...nobody knows yet. I just pray that this LDN is the miracle for HIV or AIDS ( or whichever that is true...) and that many governments will be made known...after hearing from Duesberg, Rasnick and maggiore, it seems maybe HIV is not the cause of AIDS, but after hearing Chin and the other advocates...I suddenly feel that HIV causes AIDS.. anyone who knows any info, please do advise me thanks a lot regards, Shaq On 10/22/08, zahavi <zahavi100@...> wrote: you do not have to wait for the trial.just put them on ldn.no side effects and helping the immun system.nothing to loose and much to gain.also mega doses of vit c are good against viruses.> > > > > >> > > > > > Hi, > > > > > >> > > > > > and welcome aboard.
