what

Is a normal recovery process for you.. When in doubt or if

Colds are caused by viruses, but sometimes you can have an infection

to develop along with it. If I think I have an infection, I'll usually

go to my PCP, and she'll give me an antibiotic. Over time, by what she

has said, it's an infection if what you blow out of your nose is

greenish or yellowish instead of clear. Sorry to be so gross, but this

is my understanding.

You can always ask your physician for guidance about when to call or go in.

Not an MD

I use the " wait and see " approach. Now that I'm on Humira and MTX, I seem to

need antibiotics more frequently. When in doubt, I call, especially if I'm due

to take either of those meds. After while, you'll learn when you have just a

cold, or something more. But don't worry about being a pain in the neck or

anything. My rheumatologist told me that at the first sign of an infection to

always call the doctor and go on antibiotics, since it's harder to fight

infection while on Humira.
