Guest guest
Hi everyone, things here are going well. You were all so kind during our time of crisis right before the holidays. I wanted to be sure to update you as we move into the treatment phase next week. I'm keeping her blog updated, so you can always follow our progress on the link below . We accidentally have a photo in the slideshow that has my son and the " Hulk Hands " he got for xmas. I'm leaving it in because it's sort of good comic relief. It's confirmed that Bridget has Hodgkin's disease, Stage IIa. Her PET scan shows a large mass in the center of her chest and masses in her neck and under her arms. It is *not* in her marrow, spleen, or liver - yay! She is having a port put in her chest on Wed and she will start chemo on Thur. Her name is Bridget Foley if you could send her thoughts or prayers if you are so inclined. She is afraid of losing her hair, but I'm trying to cheer her on and tell her she will only have to do this once. Hopefully next year this will all be a distant memory and she'll have new locks to celebrate with. We're hoping to keep her here in Illinois rather than send her home with my parents in WA. She has better support here and my kids are nuts about her. Thank you again, everyone, our group never fails to provide support and comfort during the toughest of times. It means so much to me that you've celebrated joyful events with me, such as Tommy's birth in June, and that you're here as we face a tough climb ahead.
