Hi guys,

I'm the fellow DS site member who told Pokie about Dr. Buchwald. When I went

in for my consult, he told me that he doesn't make the stomach smaller but

does everything else like the DS (he drew diagrams for me and it looked like

and sounded like the DS). He still calls it the DS though. The reason he

gave me about not removing part of the stomach is that he does not see any

different long term results than making the stomach smaller. I told him that

I wanted to have my stomach smaller so I won't overeat like I do now. I want

to have the feeling of being satisfied with a small amount food and to feel

" normal. " He is performing the traditional DS on me (as soon as the

insurance gives me an ok!). It even says duodenal switch with partial

gastretomy (sp?) on some insurance stuff I received from them, so that is

what the doctor ordered! Krista has already had the surgery from Dr.

Buchwald, so maybe she has some other answers than me. If there are any more

questions that I can answer about this, just let me know
