My copay went up from $50 for a 34-day supply to $100 for a 30-day supply. So I am not only saving myself money, but also my insurance company. And the weekly injections are working just fine. I got my last shipment the first of October, and I called Medco Accredo today for a new shipment. The lady I talked to checked on my prescription, and since it had been so long, she said they would have to call my doctor's office. I explained that I was trying to save money for myself and my insurance money. Well, I guess they're against that, because that means they won't get as much money. What a crock! I called the rheumy's office and spoke to the nurse who calls the prescriptions in. She said they just try to dictate to the doctors what they can prescribe. I told her NOT to change the prescription when they called. She said she would go ahead and call in a new prescription. Tonight I got a call from Medco to schedule my shipment. Now I just hope they send me my six boxes. I have always had the most trouble with this company! Does anyone else here have to deal with them? Guest guest
Hi, Yes, unfortunately, my insurance switched to Medco as of the beginning of this year. And I've had problems from day one - both with the specialty pharmacy, where my Simponi comes from, and now (just this week) with the regular mail order side... They don't have any generic Arava, and can't tell me when they'd be able to get it! Worried that there's a shoratge out there everywhere, I called my local WalMart pharmacy, and they said they have quite a bit on hand. So what's up? Uggh. Guest guest
But my rheumy's nurse called in a new prescription, so I'm thinking they'll have to fill it as prescribed. I might have to tell them to call in a new prescription each time. I'm supposed to get a 90-day supply, which is six boxes. If that's not what I get, I shall declare war. My insurance used to allow for a 34-day supply each month, instead of a 30-day. That meant I should get seven boxes, because it would be for a 102-day supply. I had so much trouble making them understand that! But I insisted that I get what I was entitled to. I'm stubborn that way.
