Guest guest
I'm wondering if any else has a similar experience to mine. I know heat sensitivity is common with MS. Lately, I have been finding that I have a sensitivity to the cold. I get shivery and my muscle get very tense and I can't seem to warm up. I have not been this sensitive to the cold before. I started the BBD in June and lost 25 pounds, so that might be affecting my sense of cold, but I just feel frozen. As I type this, I am having trouble moving my fingers! Any thoughts? Guest guest
kristin, wow, i have the exact same thing--to the point where i really prefer the heat (and fresno heat is quite serious) as i'd rather be a bit sleepy than rigid all the time. this started for me about 4 years ago, and may or may not have something to do with our thyroids; try taking iodine supps and increasing your seaweed intake. i know some people swear by modifilan but i haven't tried it yet. ginger has also been helpful; it does wonders for your circulation. other than that i just made a pact with myself never to get cold, but always to dress warmly, with layers i can shed as need be. i also have a space heater for my room. on another front, i've found sweet tomatoes/soup plantation to be a great source of BBD food, also pretty much any steakhouse. i stay away from oriental spots as they always, always, always have MSG, even the purest places use pre-packaged food with this poisonous additive. it's annoying, because i adore thai food and am quite fond of chinese and sushi as well. was wondering--a lot of you seem to have no trouble with vinegar. i do, i'm assuming because of the candida, but vinegar is the one thing i cannot ever touch--even a drop will cause me to swell up like a balloon, and it's been that way for 20 years. there was some talk amongst the BED people that apple cider vinegar was totally different and tolerable, but i noticed no difference. in fact, when i was doing the shots in the morning, i noticed a strange reaction--it felt like a tingly explosion at the base of my brain. has anyone else ever experienced this, or knows what it is?? weirdest thing ever. needless to say, i stopped. but all dressings have vinegar in them, and usually a myriad of icky preservatives as well. i stick to olive oil and lemon. aviva aviva
