Guest guest
I'm sorry that you feel so bad Ruby. Don't take the steroids or you may (probably will) get worse over time. Kelp contains iodine and too much iodine is as bad as too little. I was tested for mercury by a homeopathic doctor. I also had a hair mineral analysis. Mercury did not show up in my hair but my homeopathic test showed mercury, lot's of it. It's in my body somewhere, my guess is it's primarily in my thyroid and other glands. I hope you feel better. > > My hashi's was triggered last year after I ate lots of kelp. I don't know whether iodine or mercury in the kelp triggered my autoimmune condition. Since it was triggered, life has completely changed. One medical issue after another to the point I feel I am incapacitated to work.

Guest guest
Dr. brownstein says it is a myth that taking too much iodine (within reason) is bad for you. He prescribes 50mg.-100mg. a day. Japanese get about 12mg. a day. I am not saying it didnt trigger your hashimoto but I will say that autoimmune disorders can be caused by mercury and as you know seaweed could be contaminated and even if it was clean, the iodine stirs up mercury in your system and if your body cant excrete it, you could get a autoimmune disorder like MS and hashi etc. So you are on the right path. I dont trust hair analysis, the best way is to do a provoked urine test, however it is way too risky to get damaged during the test. They usually give you dmps and that can give you horrible side effects. so I dont recommend it. Probably everybody has mercury in them. and the way I think is the safest way to get mercury out is chlorella, and since chlorella is a food and takes out other toxins like pesticides and bpa and all kinds of things, everybody probably should be taking it. So I just assumed I had mercury rather than test it and after I had my mercury fillings taken out, I did low and slow amounts of chlorella to tolerance. Dr. Cheney says if you take it to tolerance then you can pull all the mercury out of your body in 2 years. do you have mercury fillings ? Guest guest
Hair analysis is not my ideal test for mercury but Andy Cutler has counting rules with hair analysis that can determine levels of mercury (so he says). The hair analysis shows what is coming out through your hair. Mercury won't show up but other elements that do determine the possibility of mercury, according to Cutler. I had the analysis to determine my metabolic type and the condition of my thyroid. High levels of iodine/iodide are good until your body is replete. After that it is a trace mineral and should be taken in smaller amounts. I think that if you are exposed to bromine/bromide or any other toxic element regularly then you may need more iodine than other people who are not in your situation. There is no one-size-fits all dosage. A high protein diet is good to reduce mercury toxicity according to Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt. It's also good for my metabolic type. There is more than one way to chelate. I doubt that there is a timeline for mercury removal. It may take longer for some than for others. There are too many factors involved. http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/9steps.htm > > Dr. brownstein says it is a myth that taking too much iodine (within reason) > is bad for you. > He prescribes 50mg.-100mg. a day.
